What race fits Resto Shaman, as it appears in game, the best - lore wise?

I suppose maybe one could consider Draenei for their faith in the Light. Since Restoration spec is heavily water, I suppose Kul’Tiran Humans would also work (something, something, Tidesages, something).

Personally, I wouldn’t say this is the best way to look at things, as I tend to believe the class archetypes class specs represent have little inherent interplay with things such as race or faction, and that such things are better considered on an individual basis, accounting for that individual’s personality, inclination and/or world view; but I digress.

My opinion is that a lore-coherent and well represented restoration shaman in this game would be a Tauren.

Im not a horde guy, ive never had a horde character so I have a draenei shaman.
lore goes that the draenei and orcs lived together on Draenor and through once mutual respect and understanding the orginial orc shamans taught the draenei how to “be a shaman”

Any… Healing is a universal need.

iHi Op

So on Horde I would say Tauren & troll. Perhaps even Orc if you want a not so typical type of healer.

For Alliance I would say Dranei & Dwarf

Highmountain Tauren: the Rivermane tribe is highly specialized in agriculture and fishing, so they are very proficient in water-themed/river/resto shamanism. The Chieftain Jale Rivermane is a great example of a shaman healer.

Kul’Tiran Tidesages: they are literally tidepriests linked to the sea, waves and sailing. Although they support navigation on ships, it’s not hard to imagine them using their skills to heal.

Pandaren: The pandarens are strongly connected to the elementals that appear in their questlines, with their unique aesthetic. Water spirits are often playful and wise.

Trolls (zandalari, darkspear, etc.): It’s not hard to imagine shamanism channeled through Gral, a loa entity of the sea.

Orcs: they have a deep conection with elemental shamanism.
