What professions should a demon hunter have lore wise?

engineering and mining makes sense since we have spaceships and other mechanical fel like robots.

inscription and herbalism also makes sense since its how we get the color for our tattoos.

alchemy and herbalism i think???

mining and blacksmithing would make sense if you can make warglaives but since you can’t i guess it doesn’t make sense???

skinning and leatherworking makes sense since you craft your own armor off beasts.

mining and jewelcrafting doesn’t make sense i think?

enchanting kind of makes sense???

not sure which would fit the best for theme in terms of lore im guessing inscription and herbalism.

I’d say inscription and herbalism

Especially when it’s demonhide on the beasts in Argus.

Tattoo Artist?

Or would that fall under Inscription?

Mine has Alchemy and Enchanting, personally. She concocts potions to enhance herself and allies against demons while making things to hinder said demons. Likewise, enchanting their gear to be more effective against demons is a plus. Likewise, enchanting seems to fall into the realm of magical equipment and devices such as those turrets that Jace Darkweaver utilizes in Azsuna- I’d say engineering overlaps there, but WoW’s engineering seems to come in a single flavor of “tinker”, not people working with magical tech like the Legion and Draenei do.

IMO, the most lore-friendly ones are Inscription, Alchemy, Leatherworking, and the gathering professions for each. Enchanting secondarily.

Uh,… not exactly.
The spaceships were stolen completely by the Legion, and the Burning Legion had engineers for that (the little guys we saw in BC that only rarely appeared in Legion).

So I’d say Jewelcrafting, Enchanting, and Inscription makes the most sense. While
Mining, Blacksmithing and Engineering not so much, but they aren’t impossible.
Everything else is up in the air and is neutral to what the class is.

Speaking in terms of a demon hunter changing their professions upon becoming a demon hunter, I would probably say that herbalism 100% one of them. Knowing demonic herbs would be relatively useful, as you could use them for whatever purpose.

Second one, to tie in with the first, could be alchemy, for obvious reasons. I don’t really think there is anything that flavourful specifically to demon hunters. Perhaps inscription, seeing as a DH would be proficient with runic circles/ley lines/magic tatts etc.

Inscription is the one that makes the most sense but even then its probably just for the the dh tattos, not necesarily for a “profession” per se.

Up to you, honestly. As for myself, i picked engineering for this dk under the following logic: since he’s immortal now, there’s a good chance he’ll live to see a time where guns fully replace swords, spears and such- and he wants in on that when it happens.

Inscription and Enchanting would make the most sense as their primary professions.

For their gathering profession, herbalism would make sense.

Yeah. Pretty sure the Illidan novel specifically uses this term to describe them.

I could see herbalism for some. Not always for making potions/poisons. They’ve been living on a barren rock for years and often only leave when fighting demons. I could see one or two night elf DH’s collecting herbs and plants just for their beauty and some variety. Certainly not all tho

Illidan clearly has none.

Ok I did some research and honestly it’s a tie between herbalism and inscription or skinning and leatherworking.

Both of those make the most sense too me.

Go leatherworking and skinning though since game design wise inscription is so bad and a waste of time currently haha.

Illidan clearly was an Enchanter. He disenchanted AU Gul’dan’s skull became he already had that drop.
