Is it the gathering professions? or more of the production professions?
I think Jewelcrafting is the winner for me. Even if you donât have the neck recipe, lots of people still wanting their rings with infusions, and the mats arenât really all that expensive to recraft on my own dime and sell that additional service of âIt WILL be rank 5â.
Gathering professions are always profitable.
Similarly enchanting and Jewelcrafting will always be in demand as well.
The rest depend entirely on the current expac environment and what is available from other content sources. Thatâs always been the case since Vanilla (TBC for JC), and isnât likely to change in the future.
Any profession can bring in lots of gold depending on how you spec and how much time you have to devote to the âshuffleâ. I have a guildie who makes a ton of money off selling engineering components (the bolts, greased-up gears etc). I occasionally craft a ton of rank 3 BoE gems and shift them using a multicraft tool. Another guildie has a complicated spreadsheet and still potion-shuffles, calculating each potion on a cost-per-craft multicraft/inspiration % thing that I donât understand.
If you want to make gold with the absolute minimum of engagement, then pick up a gathering profession. Raw herbs and ore still sell decently well and you can pick up a decent amount just flying laps around a zone at a time of your choosing. You should use a price-tracking website like the Oribox Exchange to determine the best time of the week to dump your mats, but even if you donât, itâs a guaranteed income without hours spent plugging costs into a spreadsheet and debating whether or not you should use a multicraft or inspiration tool to craft your next batch of 5,000 potions.
all professions (except Engineering) make money. The ones that have the highest fluctuation in market value are Tailoring / Leatherworking / Blacksmith, which start off bad before raid release, then get really good in the first few weeks of gearing, then fall back down as the average ilvl increases.
Gathering, enchanting, alchemy, and jewel-crafting all start strong and have steady declines through the tier.
I have an engineer making 20K off me from tools. Also the bracers which are like the 3rd item to blow an infusion on for non-BR classes
As opposed to inscription, that makes a low demand sticks and books.
Engineering > Inscription.
I meant generally / historically. Good thing that Eng is making some gold now, they never have before. Seems low, though. How often can you sell those items?
Iâve always made gold with engineering. Mounts, toys, pets, gliders and so on. Iâve done well with Pandaria and Draenor stuff, as well the old pets from Classic.
you can sell basic b inks as scrip and get sales instantly lol
