Just something that’s been rattling around the empty headspace. So chances are when Paladin is opened up for everyone is going to be all rolled into one singular Order. Like Druids or Shamans.
I was kind of thinking, What if? Highly dangerous I know. but I was wondering, if Blizzard took the time and care to craft story lines for each race to have their own Paladin Order what would they all be?
Night Elves - Guardians of Elune
Gnomes - Techno Knights?
Worgen - Goldrinn Crusaders
Kul’Tiran - I was thinking they’d probably join the Silver Hand but perhaps something water themed, Knights of the Tide?
Orcs - Can’t believe I’m actually considering this. Warlords of Lo’gosh?
Trolls - Shadow Warriors of Vol’jin?
Undead - Inquisitors of the Forgotten Shadow?
Goblins - Kezen Brutes?
Pandaren - Champions of the August Celestials?
Ok near the end I kind of petered out but what Orders would you make?
Think of all those dead ghostly Paladins wandering around Northrend, and all the ones with the glowy rings around them being forced to do things. Might be nice to have an Order that recognises their death and release.
I’m still obsessed with these concepts someone came up with a while back. In particular having kul tiran paladins be a part of the order of embers. The silver, the fire. It fits beautifully. Also the colours used for the blood knight armor on this is way better than what we got. Why blue gems, blizzard? Why?
I also saw some tweets recently suggesting the idea of darkspear paladins being all about Shirvallah, as that was a paladin card in hearthstone. I just seemed like an interesting angle for them.
Ultimately though I just desperately hope they don’t put all the remaining races’ paladins under the same umbrella of Tyr’s Guard. That would be so freaking lazy and lame.
Hmm I’ve seen a guy on Twitter that gives the idea of the vulpera paladins being called DuneBlessed. Normal tauren paladins are called SunWalkers but idk what HM tauren pallys would be called.
If each race had an Order of Knights/Paladins, it would be kind of confusing to keep track of everything.
Don’t get me wrong I do like the idea of other orders but I would reduce what you have on your list into a condensed list.
Knights of Elune or the Moon Guard would be made up of Night Elves, Void Elves and High Elves.(I know High Elves aren’t a playable race but would give them some lore in the Order). This Order of Elves would be about their roots when it comes to Elune mixed in with Priests who would train the new recruits to use the holy light. (Similar to how the first Human Paladins were made in the second war.)
As for Worgen, Kul Tiran’s I would place them with the Silver Hand along with the Gnomes and Mechagnomes but then again we see a Kul Tiran becoming a member of the new Tyrguard so we can think that will be a new Order.
As for the many Horde races, that would be the tough one and I would create a single Order for many of them. I would put the Nightbourne and Forsaken Paladins with the Blood Knights just to give that Order some more flavor.
As for Orcs, Trolls, Goblins and Vulpera I would make an Order similar to the Silver Hand with more of a orcish clan name like The Shattered Hand (Yes I know this name is around but imagine a Order with that name). If that can’t work then call it the Order of Surafang or the Eye of Surafang in his memory.
For the Pandaren, we must remember that our Pandaren don’t come from the mainland but from the Wandering Isle which is giant sea turtle. None of them would have had a connection with the Celestials and since you have them on both factions, it would be the toughest one to give an order for them to share. I would call them the Wandering Knights in name for their old home.
So my condensed list of new Paladin Orders would be:
Knights of Elune or Moon Guard
Order or Eye of Surafang
The Wandering Knights
Worgen, I’d suggest the Lodge of the Silver Fangs, to continue with their prior affiliation with the Alliance of Lordaeron and its overall Order of the Silver Hand.
Undead, as many of them are returned residents of Lordaeron, perhaps play on them being “tarnished” compared to the Order?
Honestly, I think the only races that would actually need a wholly new organization for Paladins would be the Orcs and Goblins. All the other races that don’t currently have access to the class already have some kind of religious order or are just off-shoots of another race that do have Paladins.
Highmountain Tauren would just be more Sunwalkers like their Mulgore cousins
Darkspear Trolls and Vulpera would most likely just join the Zandalari Prelates
Gnomes and Mechagnomes would just join the Silver Hand/Tyr’s Guard like their Human and Dwarf allies
Night Elves have the Moon Guard which are basically knights of Elune
Pandaren have either the Golden Lotus or Shado-Pan depending on how you want to spin it
Kul Tirans and Worgen do or did follow the same Church of Holy Light as other human nations. Kul Tirans also have the Order of Embers which is basically an off-shoot of the Church of Holy Light
Dark Iron Dwarves are either Silver Hand/Tyr’s Guard like their Bronzebeard cousins or Firelord cultists
Nightborne I’m pretty sure still worship Elune in some fashion, though not to the extent as the Night Elves. They could also just be in the Moon Guard or an off-shoot of it.
Void Elves, despite the weirdness of a Void-infused race wielding the Light, are just High Elves painted purple and High Elves learned to be paladins from humans, so they’d also be in the Silver Hand/Tyr’s Guard
The majority of Forsaken are people of Lordaeron, the birth place of the Church of Holy Light, turned into undead. They would also most likely just be Silver Hand/Tyr’s Guard
It’s really just the Orcs and Goblins that need something new and I honestly can’t think of anything.
we need a dungeon made where we are murlocs and going to beat arthas in icc or something. that little murloc thing in first patch of df was the best thing ive seen in wow in a long time lol so cute and funny
