My buddy is going shaman (he doesn’t know what spec yet). What is a good leveling partner with a sham, I know warrior would be one but idk if I’m sold on warrior or not. Down to warrior, mage, priest, or lock I’m thinking.
The pro’s of going with a warrior or priest are grouping for 5 mans will be easier as a tank/healer. Any opinions welcome, thanks all!

A friend and I are going Warrior/Shaman to level together due to the synergies. As you stated, dungeon groups will be a breeze as everyone and their grandma will be dps so, quick groups. Also, I chose to go Resto because with a Warrior duo, I just have to spam Rank 1 heals on him and he can pull mobs for days with little to no down time.
Then, you get Windfury Totem, that’s when your Warrior friend peaks in destructive power while you just sit back and loot corpses as he moves.
Added bonus on PvP realms. Back in the day we used to 2v8 people but, we’ll see.

that’s my thought too, I feel like my friend is going to go enhance for some reason though-so i’d likely depend more on bandaging. Warrior might be the best choice though regardless
I was going to go Enhancement myself but what I spoke about above sold me on Resto. You can 100% still heal dungeons and stuff as Enchance, I’ve done it many times, you just need to stock up on Int gear and drinks. After 30, if you get Corpsemaker from RFK, with Windfury, Enhance is REALLY fun but, as you said, you will both rely more on food, have more down time and may not level as smoothly. However, Classic is about the journey and play how you want so whatever your friend chooses, I hope you both have an amazing time.

Just a heads up. Shammy gets Ghost wolf at 20 so if you are going to be running around a lot grinding/questing you might wanna take that into account as he’ll get way ahead whenever you go anywhere 20-39.

An elemental and enhance shaman actually make a stupid good synergy with grounding totem stacking, and storm strike + elemental mastery wombo combo. With double ES and double grounding, casters will have a damn hard time dealing with you and your double purge.
The other obvious like you said is warrior shaman.
Even as enhance he can heal you fine. Warrior and shaman you will devastate everyone

Another option is Druid. With both having healing abilities and faster-running shapeshifting options you can blast through things relatively quickly.
actually thought about ele, but I imagine he will wanna get a healing set too so that could be a pain with us competing for gear-definitely not ruling it out though!

On the plus side, you’ll probably miss the clustertruck of level 1’s battling for mob tags. Sure, it’s the experience but hot dang do people get heated!
