What Other Games do you enjoy

simple as the title suggests. off topic but something else to talk about.

Generally i’m an RPG and RTS fan.
I like the pokemon games (but hate the extended hand holding the more modern versions do, like let me get in the game for gods sake, i don’t need a 20 minute intro).
I like Dragon Age and am stoked for 4 (provided EA doesn’t screw it up).
I like games like Age of Empires 2 and WC3 even if i’ll never be competitive at them.

what about you guys?

I honestly wasn’t much of a gamer until I first discovered WoW back in 2005. Since then, I have become a huge fan of mmorpg’s in general. I have played pretty much every mmorpg there is over the last 13 years or so. No matter if it was free to play, buy to play or sub based.

With that said, my favorites that I play are WoW, Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2. I go back and forth between WoW and the GW’s games often. Truly love the GW’s franchise.

There are a number of others I enjoy on the rare occasion when I want to play something besides a fantasy mmo. At one time I really enjoyed Star Wars The Old Republic. But unfortunately, they went the way of WoW of making everything so fast and dumbing it down. Because of that, I rarely play anymore. I do sometimes go back and play some for a change from fantasy and as far as story, the game can’t be beat. I recently decided to try Star Trek Online again and I am having a bit of fun with that at the moment.

I do enjoy Elder Scrolls games also. Loved Oblivion. ESO is a pretty great game as well, but I usually don’t end up sticking with it for too long at a time. Same thing for FFXIV. Good game that I enjoy, but rarely and not a favorite for me.

I find myself trying many games. Bless Online is actually quite fun. I didn’t think I would enjoy it at all, but was pleasantly surprised. Some say it’s like Black Desert Online. I personally like Bless Online much better. Rift is another fun one I go back to on occasion.

There are many games I think are very good in their own right. But WoW, Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2 are the games I enjoy the most and put the most time in. I still enjoy WoW pretty much but it isn’t close to being what it was back when I started playing. I’m beyond hyped for Classic and can’t wait to play. That is if they don’t keep sharding. If they do, I will pass and just play other games I enjoy.

Lately I’ve been playing AC Odyssey and it’s definitely worth a play.

i just finished playing final fantasy 9 and baldur’s gate again.

I’ve played wc3 campaign and boordwar campaign like 5 times. lol.

I still play Dos games on an emulator - I’m playing Syndicate and Starcontrol 2 right now.

Back in 2004 played halo, FF, baldur gate, elder scrolls, EQ, and few others.

Then vanilla came out.

Now I either play WoW or I look for something like vanilla and play it. I finally for the first time tried a pserver for a year. I was happy again. Wondering how did the mmorpg stray so far away from vanilla.

Today’s current WoW is garbage in comparison to vanilla in my opinion.

I did the same. Ended up getting totally immersed again and had so much fun. YES, you can go home again.

Recently I purchased VR goggles, and have been dabbling with a game of sorts that I downloaded from Steam. It is called “Retro Arcade Neon”, basically it is an arcade with 30 functional arcade cabinets that I can configure as I so desire. It also has a few arcade style basketball hoops, two bowling aisles, whack a mole, skee-ball, air hockey, a movie theater that plays virtual vcr tapes, a cassette player that plays virtual tapes.

It is pretty amazing, I feel like I am in an actual arcade. I’ve been busy goofing around with it for the past couple of weeks, configuring the music, movies, and games, along with playing the arcade games themselves.

Before that I was playing GW2, which I have also gotten to work for VR through a program called VorpX, which is pretty cool but not really designed for it, thus using a keyboard and mouse and sitting, which takes away from the immersion.

As far as MMOs go, I’ve tried several—Runescape, Aion, SWTOR, Rift, FFXIV, TERA Online, etc. etc… I keep coming back to WoW, partially because I’ve invested so much time into it, and partially because no other MMO has grabbed me in the way that WoW did when I played it for the first time some 13 years ago.

Outside of that, I like real-time and turn-based strategy games. I’ve sunk hundreds of hours into Age of Empires 2 and Civ 5, as well as a decent amount into Anno 2070, and XCOM: Enemy Unknown. I enjoy a good horror game from time to time (SOMA springs to mind) despite being a total coward. Recently I’ve been trying to S-rank all bosses in Cuphead. I’ve got six left, but Dr. Kahl’s Robot is proving to be a complete pain.

Watching snippets of Asmongold’s Dark Souls stream has been entertaining, if incredibly frustrating, and has made me want to go back and play through it again.

For those that were old enough (or geeky enough) ,there were MUDs. All text base. Telnet into a server address and you’re in a virtual text base world with other players.

They still exist today. Better than MMORPGs imo.

I never really got into MUDs, but I did like a few games that were like them, hosted on BBS servers. Lord and Exitilius (buggy as it was) being my favorite, in fact I still sometimes fire up my Amiga 1200 connect to the Internet, and log into various BBSs to get some of that good nostalgic fun running through my veins.

i use to dabble. but as far as mmorpgs ive done Guild wars 1 and 2. LOTRO until 5 years ago. SWToR. Asherons Call was my first. EQ 1 hated it. AION. CoNAn. WarHammer FF 11 . think thats all i tried for more than a month MMORPG wise

as my sub ends in 11 hours and i wont re sub until classic wow i play eso which is better then retail wow by a mile.i also play some destiny 2 and stilling working on assassin’s creed odyssey which should tide me over until next years games start to come out in feb.

i see no point in staying subbed to bfa until classic comes out.

lol. BBS’s. Where I got all my pirated games - downloaded on 14.4k baud modem.

I’ve been playing casual games for the last few years like Minecraft, Simcity, or old turn based strategy games like Civ 5, Lords of the Realm 2, and Age of Wonders series.

Old school RPG’s and anything competitive. I was highly competitive in Diablo III for awhile but the lack of significant development eventually got to me. Now I’m sitting here waiting for D4, Classic WoW and hoping for some new old school MMO to succeed. Legends of Aria looks like it could be fun.

The Baldur’s Gate series. NeverWinter Nights. Planescape. Trying out Dragon Age: Origins and DA 2. And Knights of the Old Republic.

Total War: Warhammer 2 has been eating my life for the past couple of months. When I get bored of it I plan on finishing up the Witcher series and probably get around to playing Hitman.

I’m more or less just burning through my Steam library in the buildup to Classic.

Ever heard of pantheon rise of the fallen? If it ever comes out it could have potential.

Yeah I’ve been checking it out. Looks like it could be good but it’s still way too early to tell.

Dude lords of the realm 2 is amazing and I’ll fight any one who says otherwise.

Dragon age origins is great. 2 not so much.
Inquisition was better then 2 by a mile and I’m so hyped for Dragon age 4.
