I’m curious to hear people’s opinions on what possible role the Kaldorei will play in the Midnight story. So, Blizzard said we’ll be uniting the elven tribes in Midnight, and it’s obvious this will include the Sin’dorei and Ren’dorei. But what about the Kaldorei? We know they will play a role in the expansion, as there are sentinels in some of the scenes from the gameplay reveal. However, we don’t know much about what they’ll actually do. All we know is that they’re present and that Halduron and Thalyssra briefly visit Bel’ameth.
I feel like TWW is the first expansion since Cataclysm without some kind of night elf B-plot.
Let the blood elves and void elves do high elf stuff and maybe in four or five expansions we can circle back and check in on the kaldorei.
What about them? They’re a different group of elves entirely. Sin’dorei and ren’dorei (and quel’dorei I guess) are thalassian elves. So they’re the ones reuniting. The void elves may have changed but they still come from Quel’thalas.
I was just talking myself into maining something other than an NE and now you have me second guessing that, wondering if we might get something special in the story. I don’t think so, but we are elves so idk.
None I hope. Every time they include them in the story they butcher them. Literally. As a mainly NE fan I truly hope Blizz completely forgets they exist.
I’m not sure if Night Elves will get anything meaningful in the story, but it’s possible. As I said in my original post, Halduron and Thalyssra briefly visit Bel’ameth, where they recruit Shandris, and seemingly the Sentinel Army. There is also this story of reuniting the elven tribes, which hasn’t really surfaced in the launch patch, but could in any major or minor patch after 12.0.
Anyhow… as a long-time fan of Night Elves, part of me hopes they will give them something. At the same time, though, I do recognize that Blizzard has not handled the race that well in the past, and is unlikely to do any better going forward.
SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
Don’t let the devs remember we exist! Let us peacefully in Bel’ameth and not having our lore massacred in favor of Human potential or faction conflict. We finally had a happy ending after… well… for the first time ever?
yall whine and complain when the story isnt about you
now yall whine and complain when it is
outside of humans, does any race get more story attention at this point?
Blood Elves are about to get a whole xpac. Though they might regret that.
And they were half of TBC, along with Draenei, the only race completely neglected is probably Pandaren… maybe Tauren? Neither really has main focus since Pandaria was a whole expansion that focused less on Pandas and more Horde V Alliance and Garrosh and Varian’s anger issues.
Goblins also just had a whole patch.
With Blizzard’s writing quality? Tyrande and Sylvie will hug, cry tears of joy, sing Kumbaya and adopt Anduin.
And it’s kinda sad that THAT was the high point of The War Within honestly… not the zone and stuff itself, I ADORE Undermine, but… I mean just look at K’aresh and Dornogal, the only other part of this expansion subjectively with character was Hallowfall and parts of Ringing Deeps (mostly Speaker Brinthe’s SASS), and one of those is just a penal colony of Paladins.
the Winderunner sister will “Adopt” the human male… wink wink
I don’t “adore” Undermine, but it was the best patch of the xpac. Karesh is absolutely boring and the launch patch was a whole lot of cringe.
What ever race you decide to play shouldn’t have much to do with the Midnight story. Just play the race you like best.
I’ll be playing Blood Elves and Void Elves as usual.
Screw the kaldorei. The last three expansions have had strong story focus on them, with Dragonflight dedicating an entire patch to them, wrapping up their story arc. Let someone else have a turn. The Blood Elves have been waiting patiently since Throne of Thunder.
Who in their right mind would wish for something like that? Like… seriously.
The Kaldorei were in the spotlight and what happened to them? They were repeatedly turned into the ultimate laughingstock.
This is what happens to almost every race and NPC unlucky enough to be thrust into the spotlight in this game.
In that case, let the Vulpera have a turn. I want to see those vermin burn
I’m not expecting a huge plot, but I am expecting something. Loe’rhemar married Thalryssa so the Nightborne could have a presence in the story, helping their elven cousins. Kinda just think they could tack in the Night Elves too through that cousinly connection too.
Like I said, nothing major, just some minor patch storyline like the Siren Isle.
I’ve been telling people that for a long time now as they keep complaining about the Horde being “written out” of the story. They are about to get what they asked for. ![]()
