What needs to happen in P4 to see you return?

Cata raids are probably way to hard for the average classic player.

I figure I’ll add my response to my own question now.

Just for starters, if P4 doesn’t have across the board damage nerfs to classes, we’re already off to a bad start and will be and immediate sign for me to stay away.

Second, if they don’t wholesale admit how bad Incursions were, and say they’re not doing crap like that again, another sign.

Third, if we see the class redesign and it’s yet again piles and piles of scaling damage runes instead of avoiding damage inflation by adding utility runes.

Those will be the big three things I’ll keep an eye out for.

Nerf shamans, increase tank threat/DPS or at least give tanks better runes, remove attunements for the raids, make World Buffs not usable in raids, and bring out an actual new raid like was promised earlier.

Actually, I think that can be an incredible suggestion as a general rule of thumb:

Every new phase or new patch, convert the raids of the previous content level to 5-mans, or at least offer 5-man versions of them. When BWL comes out, it’d be really cool to run MC in 5-man. Or if that upsets too many people, every other release could do this change, so when AQ40 opens up we can 5-man MC.

It would be a very friendly change to encourage a player base of casuals that hardly steps on the toes of the parsers and raid loggers. For the people who stay on the cutting edge of content it’s also easier for them to form groups and go back to get select items they missed for whatever reason.

It’d be the most meaningful for me and it’d be all that’s required to keep my casual RL guild subbed after hitting level cap.

First, they need to stop milking their playerbase like we are a Cashcow.
This should be called the Season of Extortion, because not testing P2 or 3 worked wonders leveraging people’s willingness to keep throwing money at a 20 year old copypasta on the hopes that the Dev team ‘gets it right’ on the first go. They didn’t bother testing much before P2 and 3 (they must not have known it was a tiered release), but they released it anyway. How is it that a billion dollar AAA company can’t field muiltiple, concurrently running but independant WoW Classic teams? How many billions must we spend to garner a modicum of professionalism from this company? When will they start respecting the fiduciary responsibility they have to their shareholders? Do they not realize they are alienating the oldest, most economically mature and dependable demographic in their subscriber base?
I imagine they thought that releasing another untested, hodge-podge of old code parallel to SoD was a brilliant move to cover any potential Subscription ‘leakage’ they may incur due to, say, stretching a 4-month release into a year-long debacle (after all, they are on the same client, as you know).
In reality what they did was demonstrate, yet again, the disconnect in their comprehension of ‘effective product management’ and actually making a thoroughly tested, AAA quality product worthy of the investment of their subscribers’ time and custom?
They would need to behave in a manner that does not replicate the actions of Grifters, Carpetbaggers and Snake Oil Medicine Men for me to keep playing.
The fact that a billion dollars in profit over 20 years isn’t enough to give us a functioning, enjoyable gaming experience free from delay and without having to kow-tow us, for feedback every week says it all, I think. /end rant

Now that that is out of the way, they could start adjusting individual spell coefficients instead of having PvP dampening. It’s almost like they learned absolutely nothing from Resilience, and are trying to replicate it exactly. Dampening does not work, it is a boorish, and inelegant stopgap measure poorly thought out and even less effectively implemented.
Here’s a suggestion; use Splines to bottleneck power creep based on gear or new(/ Classic+ abilities, and fine tune every spell coefficient, one class at a time. You can also make Specializations have a scalar effect on abilities.
The fact that Runes on gear was ‘borrowed’ straight from the playbook of the private server scene ( excellent job, it’s a brilliant system) without undergoing the same measures and procedures to balance said design implementation is absolutely mind-blowing. It is akin to not having a driver’s license and getting into a Formula 1 car for your first test drive
There.
Game balanced.
If they had hired me a month ago, it would be releasing today.

We will need 200% increased honor gains at all times after reading this thread.

Now I know you are trolling.

Tank threat is fine; it’s a DPS’s responsibility to not over-threat the tank. That’s why they have Threat meters built in-game.

Curious why you want to remove attunements

i also dont see the problem with the attunement
MC: run in n out of BRD quick and simple
Oxynia: bit of a pain but doable
ZG: nothing have fun
BWL: quick n easy
AQ 20: same as ZG
AQ 40: nothing
naxx: the rep too exalted is long

I’ll probably be back regardless, but 10 man raids would be nice.

No new incursions as well, please.

And he was the only one that made it back home meaning they were useless.

People seem to forget that MC is a bit more complicated actually. To summon the last couple bosses you need Hydraxian Waterlords rep… to be able to get quests in MC to kill trash and certain bosses… to get the item needed to put out the runes to summon Majordomo.

I have a feeling they might change this though, we shall see.

I would agree with all but the runes part. Sadly that wont happen. 0 chance.

my friends need to come back and they need to open transfers from crusader strike to wild growth as promised over a month ago

Because if people wish to raid later on then they will have to find a BRD group willing to do the escort quest. No one likes doing that quest especially if they get nothing out of it. Most BRD groups by then will be doing trinket runs only.

10 person, 3 day lockout, and every friend group subs again

This is probably what needs to happen, but they are likely already way to far along on 20 man MC/Ony.

You obviously want retail-lite

Now instead of dreading MC once a week, you can dread it twice a week! Yayyy!

Runes worked decently at 25 when there wasn’t any spec identity with so few talents. To use shaman as an example, the system started to show cracks later when any shaman could take riptide or they had to block other shamans from using mental dex with a hard restriction that might as well make it an enhance only.

Also having to consider what permutations you can make with slot availability has proven to be a design headache. Preventing certain combinations while realizing you goofed up playstyles by putting two on the same slot. Like frostfire bolt turning mages back into one button classes when they used hot streak on that slot.
