What needs to happen in P4 to see you return?

I haven’t touched my SOD characters in who knows how long. One of the hardest things to do is to lose the ‘urge’ to play, as addiction goes. But that urge basically vanished over night in P3 after a couple days of doing Incursions.

Now I’m wondering if I’ll even be able to return to SOD at all.

Which begs the question, someone in a similar position, what would have to happen in P4 to pull you back in?

I have an average iq so i never even started playing SOD after the reveal trailer.

Its good that SOD is dead. Hopefully they never do another Season for Classic.

id be back for p4 if they added dragon flying and demon hunters. Bliz plan worked, they made SoD fail by taking forever to release the next phase, i ended up going to retail and trying dragon flying and demon hunters and wow those are super fun. Dragon flying is faster than taking a flight path and demon hunters are just gods. I bet a single demon hunter can counter 10 shaman in the basin

I don’t think the damage can be undone, but my own personal wish list:

  • Runes scrapped all together
  • Small tweaks to talents and maybe one or two new abilities max, added only to classes/specs that really need it
  • Gold reset
  • Incursions scrapped, or redone so it’s not spammable loops of same quests, maybe world event type thing, random locations
  • No more xp boosts
  • Make dungeons worth running for gear

But at this rate, probably just do a proper Classic+ with a different team

Sounds like you would do a better job than this dev team. I hope they hire you.

Just needs to drop the patch so I can get to 60 and start playing around the end-game.

game balanced for PvP
alliance with dwarf shamans
horde with undead paladins
details on what is happening with these characters in the long run so I know I’m not wasting my time (Seasons constantly resetting everything is lame)

I can still go on my paladin and warrior in era and keep gearing them out (they are a mix of BWL and AQ gear right now)

all my previous time played is respected whenever I wanna jump back in after a long break

Thank goodness you dont have your fingers in this game.

What a stupid suggestion.

“Oh yea lets just rip the soul from the factions by homogenizing them like TBC did in the past”

How to kill an MMORPG about two warring factions: take away what separates them.

People aren’t warring because paladins and shamans.

The only thing that kills world pvp is a focus on dungeons , instanced content, and flying mounts.

Do you people have an inner monologue?

Do you think this before you post it?

You wrote it not me.

I’ve learned to let go of a lot within the game, but my friends and I stay subscribed when we can play together. We just don’t see ourselves returning to how we were during the college years, joining or creating raiding guilds and spending so much time on it.

All we want is the feeling of a poker night with friends we know, familiar and repeatable gameplay and steady character progression without having to sideline the rest of our lives or meta-game.

SoD was going strong, because 6 of us could assemble and do BFD and Gnomer, slower than a pug but we got it done in our own little group. ST is completely off the table for us.

What needs to happen in P4 to keep us subscribed is to not completely end our progression as a small guild of RL friends. Slow, steady progression while having fun. We can continue to ignore the meta-gamers and weird development choices like incursions. I really don’t care what other people do anymore as long as there’s a niche for us. We all just chose to ignore the incursions and pretend their rewards didn’t exist.

Taking recommendations for other co-op games a group of 5 or 6 can do, it’s the sweet spot for us, we don’t want more friends at our stage of life, just challenges to overcome.

Just releasing, that’s all.

No thanks. It seems very boring.

Few things.

  1. Rebalanced new raids like MC to take away certain magical resistances (fire resist will make tanklock VERY difficult for endgame)
  2. Properly rebalance classes such as mage, warlock, and druid to where they are actually competitive with Melee
  3. Take a focus away from PvP. Make it optional and make the PvP scaling entirely different from PvE including a max timer on CC so you have to ACTUALLY fight well, not just gank and CC which is what PvP currently is.
  4. Normalize Rage (It needs to happen)
  5. Release a plan to add either TBC content (namely Draenei and Blood Elves) or a true classic + experience with everything missing from classic that was cut for time.
  6. Announce an expansion of the current team, more than doubling it in size including 3 playtesters for each class
  7. Announce going forward there will be the option for flex raiding, either 20 man or 40 man with 20 man being a bit harder mechanically and numbers wise, but easier to fill and 40 man being the default relatively easy raid but with logistics being the issue.
  8. Announce add-ons being disabled but instead by default include QoL options including DPS/HPS tracking which SHOULD be standard.

I mean the prospects of doing a Karazhan Crypts raid and actually getting to raid iconic raids with new abilities/talents is good enough for me to comeback and at least try phase 4. That being said, if the only new content they are adding to phase 4 is simply a new raid, phase 4 will die quicker than phase 3. Unless of course, they make the new raid the new end game raid after Naxx. This would force people to have to stick around throughout phase4 if they want to give it a try which I could see blizz doing that.

Spirit Wolves available to Elemental Shaman and i’m hooked
