What MUST be the next class after BFA

Whatever the next class is, people will have to grind rep and do long questlines before they are permitted to play it.

ok fine, make a Cleric class haha

no new classes, fix the mess that all other classes needs first.

then we might talk.

I don’t see anymore new classes…I think wow will implode once classic hits…You’ll get one more expac at most for retail. People will realize how good wow could of been…and leave retail in masses…granted it will be the same check being wrote. For instance with retail, more bad decisions like water strider…it’s almost like actiblizz is trying to kill retail

Have you ever dropped one of those things on your foot? They bloody hurt!

I see a lot of foreshadowing for Dark Rangers. But they’d be users of magic in a way because of all the shadow and death magic imbued in their attacks.

While not what I want, I do agree this all seems most likely.

It’s gonna be dark ranger and it’s gonna be demonhunter’s third spec

In the new bg Shaw says he needs more rogues ok fine. But Nathan says he needs more dark rangers like wtf Nathan do you even play this game there are no dark rangers just stoopid hunters

Available archetypes that are reasonably unique:

Tinker, Necromancer, Chronomancer/Telemancer (would have time-based healing spec).

Edit: I think Tinker has the biggest chance at being the next class, considering Tinker NPCs in island expeditions with unique abilities, and our whole venture to mechagon with the mechagnomes.

There was a Zandalari and Kul Tiran hint 3 years ago in Legion and that was spot on.

We definitely don’t need more melee. We currently have more melee dps specs in the game than ranged, and melee’s better designed, in general. The priority should be to make dps classes fun to play again, but if they’re going to add a class, I’d take a healer/ranged over anything.

Remove specs, make classes feel engaging, fun and not dated and uninteresting. They have issues balancing this as it is or proper class design.

If I were thinking, should be hybrid maybe or a range for Monk that works similar to elemental shaman, but this would be like a Chi Monk.

Or add a holy-ranger-paladin that shoots arrows of light.

They should tear down the class-spec structure and talent system, do 9.0 with a modern take on the old tree system. Make classes and not specs, and give people the choice to mess around to have fun with what they want their class to play like.

I am really hoping for necromancer (no we do NOT have enough emo and edgy classes - THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS ENOUGH). But, I agree with the above posters and think it will likely be tinker.

I wouldn’t mind a new class, but I would rather they fix the ones they currently have in game already.

And when I say fix, I do not mean number tuning or just balancing things out. I am referring to the classes game play. Every expansion it seems they just change everything around, and gut it, making it more and more bland. I really don’t think they even know what they want out of at least half the classes. There is nothing unique anymore, there is no identity.

It is a clear indication that whoever makes the finalized decisions has lost sight on character development. What is the point of a new class? Something new and shiny (and severely lacking). When they can not fix what they have already.

a tinker is pretty much a gnome hunter with mechanical pets or or suv hunter with bombs and trap we already have that.

now a cloth caster with a 2hd sword would be really cool.

a cloth class with a 2hd sword:)

I find it so amusing people actually believe this.

Instead of adding a new class I’d like it if they removed monks and DH. Thats it

So much this, I miss my talent tress and the ability to mix talents for optimal builds. I miss my locks SL/SL build for PvP.
