It can be from the game, from machinima parodies and whatnot.
Here is my list:
None. Not that I think the music is bad or anything; it’s just that I have the in-game music turned off while I stream Pandora in the background.
Grizzly Hills and Nightsong.
Occasionally, while out jogging, I’ll listen to:
I don’t really listen to WoW’s music very much. I get that it goes more for being atmospheric/ambient most of the time, and I’ll have the music playing when I’m in a new area just to listen to what they’ve composed. But it always ends up being too subtle for my liking which makes it not very memorable to me. Once I’ve sampled the music it ends up getting turned back off.
Before Legion Dalaran Sewers on loop it was definitely Eversong Woods on repeat. Dalaran Sewers is a mood setting tune
Kinda ironic cause you linked the exact video I was going to (Grizzly Hills ambience)
I also like to listen to the Jade Forest ambience too.
Updated ogrimmar music when Garrosh rightly ruled
I love wow music, these are some of my favorites to listen to
But there are lots more beyond these. A lot of what I listen to when studying is music from wow.
I like many others like Nightsong and that invincible piece . ( i deleted links because I’m not sure they are allowed in the forum? ) However believe it or not I quite enjoy The ambience of the Garrison as well it is both eerie like as if my character is not at the Garrison itself but perhaps visiting some ancient sacred burial ground for Night elves or something it actually has put me to sleep at night. I also quite like this piece as well. Visions of the Prophet from Warlords of Draenor, I feel that’s a rather underrated piece in my opinion, it to me reflects a time of sadness and defeat for the Draenei people . As well as the Noble Tauren piece from the Catacylsm expansion . Because I remember when I visited a part of Mulgore on my level 85 Tauren Hunter name Komek . (Who I still have btw but is no longer my main) They were mourning the loss of Cairne Bloodhoof who died by Garroshs hand in that duel. if I am not mistaken my lore may be way off. I started playing around Lich King and stopped playing shortly around Pandaria and picked it up around Shadow lands. I’m still exploring places and finding new music to enjoy
‘Back in the day’, when I first starting playing, I always had the in game music on. Enjoyed it so much, got an iPod and purchased almost all the WOW soundtracks from iTunes. THEN…not exactly sure when, maybe when MOP went live, they changed the way the in game music loops. I turned the music off. Blizzard saved me tones of money but I do miss the way the music use to loop.
/humming music from Sholazar Basin
Almost all of the in-game music is atmospheric and not something that’s particularly interesting to listen to standalone. So none of that.
And basically none of the popular parody stuff from back in the day is even remotely good as anything but parody. Most of them couldn’t sing to save their lives, and audio quality was awful. And I don’t care for rap so the cuts out a good chunk of that too.
Cranius is the only one I actually liked. His ‘Fix You’ cover is leagues better than Coldplay’s version.
But to keep it more WoW specific, this:
Stormsong valley without a doubt
And while technically it comes from WC3, there is a command you can type in to listen to this one too so i’ma count it:
I have in-game music turned off lol.
