I used to listen to the Conan the Barbarian OST while mindlessly farming. 15yrs later I think I will blast the FFXV OST.

Just posted a similar thread. I made an all 2004 - 2006 playlist. It’s an odd mix (like me) of EMB like Mesh, A23, Cruxshadow, KMFDM, Icon of Coil and then Social Distortion, Tori Amos, NIN
It was all metal/hard rock back then and I’m still listening to the same now. But yeah, just zone music for me.

When I buy a new game, the first thing I do is set the music to mute, because I have my own music to listen to. I did it with wow back in 2005, and I still don’t know what any of the music sounds like.
I’m going to change that policy for classic. I’m going to not listen to my own music, and instead immerse myself in the sounds the developers thought suited the mood of the zone. We’ll see how that goes.
