What monitor do you use?

I have updated to a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Graphics Card. I’m looking for a replacement monitor to match my graphics card.

If I do a search on “What is the best monitor for Warcraft” I find dozens of game sites all with different “Best Monitor.” I thought I would ask the WoW community what they use.

I’d look for a G-sync capable monitor if you’ve got a 3090. It’ll be more expensive but it is worth it, I find.

This is what I have; it’s 27’’, 2k resolution, G-sync capable and has up to 144hz refresh rate.

32GK850G-B is what I use. 144hz, Gsync, Real clean colors. Insanely clean monitor. If you want 4K then maybe LG 32UN880-B but I think 32in 2k is the sweetspot.

I use a Dell 27" 1440p, 144Hz Gsync monitor and it has treated me right for many years.

My daughter just bought a 32" and i gotta say im very jealous.

I have the predecessor to the Asus TUF Gaming Monitor 1440p 144hz. Same screen, but different model number.

Invest in a wide curved 37’’ 4k monitor.

Best investment you will ever make - WOW is amazing ! like really !

Both are 27inch, 2560x1440, G-Sync module built in.

ROG PG279Q: Old monitor, I ran it at 165hz for over 2 years and now it flickers at that frequency, I brought it down to 120hz to stabilize the flickering, now its smooth again. This has turned into my second monitor for viewing.

ROG PG279QM: New monitor, max rate is 240hz, but I’m running it at 200hz as WoW doesn’t go past 200 FPS. For my two gtx 1080 Ti / SLI it sometimes soft crashes on startup and rarely when a game launches. No problems while actually playing a game though, I can maintain around 80 FPS outdoors, 150+ FPS in dungeons, and 120ish in raids.

The one attached to my Lenovo Legion

I use an LG 27GN950 from a 3080, and it’s pretty good.

You see those monitors from Hammerfell? They’ve got curved screens. Curved screens

C32G2 and C32F391

Those are super awesome. I always think of those futuristic computers in old movies when I see funky curved screens!

i got an IPS quantum dot 27inch msi gsync compatible 1440p/165hz along with my 3080ti.

if i could go back in time id probably be looking into oled instead.
IPS has weird glow in the corners when the image is really dark (most noticeable in dark games like d2r but still…)

i’d probably look for actual gsync instead of gsync compatible as well. i bet it would handle dual digit fps dips better

First figure out the framerate you can put out with your setup.
Then look for a monitor that’s faster than that framerate (but not too much faster unless your interested in futureproofing it) and in whatever resolution you want.

Lots of people say 1080p is the best for gaming, but if you can pull off a high enough framerate in 1440 or 4k then go for it.

Your best bet would have been to grab something on sale for black friday, but the good news is that big high rez and high refresh rate monitors can be had for a couple hundred bucks these days.

I just got an RX 6800 XT on sale for $350 so I’ll be upgrading as well (from a 1660 super) and I’m mostly just watching for sales at this point. This week and next week, right after Christmas, there’s usually a bunch of smaller sales on overstocked monitors, and certainly an uptick in refurbished or secondhand models.

Some HP 25er thing that my sister-in-laws friend gave her but she handed down to me.

I have a 1660Super.

Game looks pretty on it.
