What level of PvE content do you do?

Not looking to pass judgement on anyone or anything. But we get a lot of topics about PvE gameplay here and I’m curious to see what perspectives GD is coming from. I frequently wonder if many of those threads are people running high content and people running low content talking past each other without really seeing the other perspective.

For me, I mainly raid with my guild. We’re more on the casual side but we get AOTC every season. I personally am able to raid at a Mythic level (and have done so in the past) but the entry requirements beyond just having the skill required are too much for me to do that full time. I don’t run dungeons as much since I don’t enjoy them as much as I do raids but I usually ran +19 to +22 with my guild last season and I’ve gotten KSM every season since it’s been a thing.

Usually I stop when the key level becomes annoying to pug which means basically no 26 or higher. I don’t make it a point to raid but I do it sometimes.

I tried healing keys for the first time last season and pugged to the 24-25ish range on Holy Priest and Restoration Shaman before keys I needed became very sparse.

Hoping to push higher this season now that I’ve got a group. :dracthyr_love_animated:

That sounds encouraging! It’s definitely a lot easier running PvE content with a static group. Saves a lot of game time that would otherwise be wasted on PuGing and of course it’s a lot easier to run with people you trust than with strangers.

I’m probably going to end up running higher than I usually do this season as well since the higher key level for rewards means that the dungeoneers in my guild are going to drag my butt in there to make sure I have that gear for raiding. Maybe I’ll even enjoy it more since DF was exceptionally kind to Feral in particular when it comes to their dungeon toolkit.

I only do Heroic raiding. I get AOTC every season, gear my character with Heroic gear and call it a day. I don’t enjoy M+ or Rated PvP and Mythic raiding is too frustrating and too big of a time investment for me.

Yeah. I’d sit there in LFG for a half hour working on profession/mog stuff before a key I needed and qualified for would pop up, then a decent chunk of the time it’d only be a +1 or it’d get bricked, so it was a very slow time after a point.

I could’ve gotten further if I started sooner or made more of an attempt to find a group but I mostly just wanted to see how healing felt and was bored with nothing to do in pvp.

There was a time. Back when Goblins were new, a dragon randomly burned zones to the ground, and deathknights were still cool. Back then i was a heroic raid pusher and 14th top DK on the server. But then the guild server changed without telling me and fell apart.

Now im just a grumpy old casual who barely touches mythic 0 and LFR.

I have never run a Mythic

I don’t like joining groups unless it’s LFG

I wish they would allow M0 to be queable for LFG

So, after I max out on a character, I start a new one.

My PvE content consumption doesn’t go beyond World stuff (Usually PvP related) or Weekly dungeon quests for Rep (usually just on normal)

beyond that I only PvP.

From Vanilla to the start of WoD, I used to raid hard core and be in US top 250 guilds. Put sooo much time into raiding then etc so when WoD came out I went to just doing Heroic raiding and with a 2 night a week guild. So since then that is what I have been doing and have enjoyed it a lot more. However, as of last expansion, feeling the need to do m+ higher end ones so I could keep up burnt me out with raiding. So to start this expansion, I likely won’t be raiding except LFR to see the content. Not sure if I will raid next tier but as of now so far I am not planning on it.

I am also playing another mmo which has now become my main one so that plays a part in me not raiding this expansion and just playing at my own pace and enjoying everything now. Although it was quick to get to level 70.

Due to health concerns I stick to content that isn’t timed, or things I can quit out of and not cause harm to others if I do. At most, LFR, maybe a mythic+0 if I am feeling well enough. I tend to collect things in the game. Mounts, pets, toys, appearances and alts.

Once I actually get in the door I actually really enjoy Mythic raiding. The biggest problem for me is finding exactly 20 names to run with. No one likes being the backup guy on the bench and it’s frustrating when one person on the team has a commitment on raid night so that cancels raid for everyone.

The inflexibility with assembling a group turns out to be a much larger obstacle than the difficulty for me. I would probably be raiding Mythic if it used the same flex system as Heroic. Even though I know why it doesn’t use that system I still lament it somewhat.

I used to teach raiding to groups. Been out of it for awhile though. I try and get the heroic raids done but it’s not a big deal whether I get AOTC or not now.
I’ll run raid finder when I’m geared too just to help randoms push through it too.
I think I ran the same raid more than 10 times before with loot lock just to to help random people out.

I take it genuinely then, since it is pretty neat to see what content players run to understand their perspective.

I achieved Ahead of the Curve with some (three to five boss) into Mythic raiding ever since it was first introduced in Siege of Orgrimmar. I barely engaged with Mythic+ dungeons when they were added in Legion, but got Keystone Maser in Season 3 of Battle for Azeroth. I took a step back in Shadowlands, only getting Normal raid kills during Season 4 during the Fated affixes and never got back into Keystone Master (although my Demon Hunter got a little above 1880 keystone rating). I found a guild I like going into Dragonflight and plan to run Normal this Tuesday with them with the eventual Heroic either this week (if we clear Normal) or the next. I’m looking to get back into Ahead of the Curve achievements with some Mythic boss progression, which this guild wants to do but a more relaxed pace that I’m pretty comfortable with.

I usually like to stay in the +16-18 key range. I didn’t do much mythic+ in shadowlands bc my favorite class/spec was in a bad state darn near the whole freaking time and it just wasn’t fun to play. I do LFR to see the story, raids aren’t really my thing, too boring. I fill my down time with gathering, cooking, alchemy and doing world quests. Also leveling up other healer specs.

I don’t have a group.

In SL, I think I maxed out an M+12, thats as high as I got.

I tried PvP early on in SL, but after a week on not accomplishing any single game goal, since my groups always lost, I gave up on that.

I don’t push keys because I find them frustrating. I had a Mists key in SL drop 4 levels in about 1hr because of tank drama, healer drama, someone DCing.

I don’t mind losing a level because we couldn’t finish in time, but the burden on the keyholder of everyone else not being a bad actor is too high. The punishment to severe. So, I stopped bothering doing that.

I don’t raid because I can’t play enough all at once to complete one, and its very difficult to impossible to find a pug raid thats starting near where you left off. So, yea, if I just wanted to kill the same 3 first bosses week after week, I guess that’s “raiding”, but that’s not the goal.

So I gave up on that content as well.

That leaves world content. Still wrapping my head around what we have here in DF. It’s seems rather scattered. The idea of farming those keys for Wrathion seems kind of awful, frankly. We’ll see how that develops.

Just been running random dungeons, trying to get gear for heroic, but not getting much.

Eventually I’ll have enough gear to do the single M+ per week for the vault, which is pretty much what I did in SL.

I raid mythic with my guild, we typically get CE, but finished 10/11 in Sepulcher with a lot of cancelled nights from roster boss, though we did manage Halondrus before it had a ton of nerfs - we didn’t kill it in it’s RWF form, but definitely when it was still pretty hard. I typically do keys up to the +25-26 range, usually end up pugging a fair amount.

I only started retail at 9.0 and was a huge noob until 9.1. Hoping to push somewhat higher in DF.

That’s weird. People usually don’t do that here.

I do Normal (former Flex) raids and dabble in Heroic (former normal). I like a challenge but I am not trying to prove my worth as a human by my skills at a children’s game.

  • When I heard of Mythic dungeons I was excited (back in Mists). Then I heard they were Time Attacks and I never looked at them till just now. I will do M0 since there is no timer, but that is it.

I mostly do open world content and avoid instanced content like the plague.

I will level up all classes, all professions, 99% of reputations, etc.

It also makes it difficult to mentor lower skilled guild members. I’m one of the mentors in my guild and there have been lots of times where I wanted to run with a mentoree through a particular key level, but in order to get a key of that level I had to drop my own key down pretty significantly. Our guild tends to have access to a lot of keys on the high end from the players who run dungeons a lot, a lot of keys on the low end from players who don’t, and a massive drought in the middle keys. So transitions for players who are gradually getting better are tough to navigate.
