What level is actually half way to 120?

i know its not 60 right? I mean if you add total xp required to hit 120 what would the actual half way point be? I thought it was somewhere in the later 70s? But i cant find anything about it online.

Sort of like revered with a faction is actually the half way point to exalted xp wise.

I terms of experience i would say 85-90

I’ve always taken it as the midpoint of expansions, in the current lineup, it would be as Wariya described, end of Cata or so.

I’m too lazy to do the math for you - but this link has the xp per level for 8.1.

It’s not quite so clean-cut anymore, thanks to expansion being allowed to overlap the same experience bracket (Patch 7.3.5). The weighting of the reduced XP to level in 8.1 are another factor… but I think I’ll ignore that one.

  • Vanilla – Levels 1 to 60
  • TBC & WotLK – Levels 60 to 80
  • Cata & MoP – Levels 80 to 90
  • WoD – Levels 90 to 100
  • Legion – Levels 100 to 110
  • BfA – Levels 110 to 120

Based on the “halfway through the number of brackets” method, that puts the halfway point at the start of WoD (… I think).

Though technically speaking, that CAN be the end of Cata… if you did the whole of Cata and skipped MoP entirely.

Bit late, did the math, raw EXP values, Lvl 96 is closest to halfway.

Total Exp for 1-120:
29,428,560

Half of that is:
14,714,280

Lvl96 is
14,601,150

(data is according to the 8.1 PTR data from the Wowhead link above.)

The math is great, but the best part is that 1 year later is only “a bit” late.

better than anyone else bothered with

EDIT: i dont think raw EXP value is a good way to judge what is the halfway point in the leveling experience. while 96 is half, by raw exp, quests at higher levels do award more exp.

A “bit” doesn’t necessarily mean a “little bit.” It could also be “quite a bit.” The term “bit” can fill many time frames.

Hmm… what was my earlier guess?

… not that far off, based on the math.

However, considering the rate of XP gain increases with level, that would likely edge it lower than half the total XP value. Maybe lower than what I had guessed.

Eh, semantics in any case. Fun little comparison, though.

Should i change it to say “a Byte late” cause its bigger? ^___^
