i made a new warrior to test out how “difficult” it is. he’s only level 10 right now but it doesn’t feel any harder than any of the other classes i’ve leveled, and significantly easier than a pre-pet hunter.
i saw someone say that you can’t quest without being in a group. is that true? what level will that be?
It never gets hard. It is slower than some classes, but really not that bad, even with out of date green weapons.
I’d make sure cooking and firstaid are skilled up as you go, though.

i’m a slow leveler anyway and haven’t noticed it being any slower than my other toons. but that’s good to hear. thank you.
Warrior leveling isn’t half as bad as many claim that it is. Sure, it’s slow, and being forced to fight in melee means you need to watch your pulls carefully, but you can still handle most quests solo without too much issue, especially if you use cooking and first aid. Just make sure that you keep your gear up to date; the difference between painful warrior leveling and fun warrior leveling is a few blues and a hard-hitting weapon.

I did not level my first warrior until WotLK… But the talent system and the content was similar to what we have now. Overall, I did not find it hard. I leveled arms, fed him BoE’s (with enchants!) and made sure he kept up with first aid and alchemy (health pots = win… he was a total pot-head!)

This isn’t a hard science. Some weapons should be replaced a few levels after you get them, while powerhouse items like the Whirlwind Axe can last for over 10 levels. Weapon damage trumps stats, especially when questing, most of the time. If you want to keep up with your gear, make sure that no item in your inventory is 5 levels lower than your current level. If you ever need gear upgrades, dungeons offer the best way to obtain them. It goes without saying that dungeon blues are much more powerful than most questing greens, and warriors, more than any other class, scale off of their equipment in power. A warrior in full blues with wreck faces, and a warrior in outdated equipment will be a miserably slow limp noodle.

10-30 is the grind, especially 20-30. Once you get sweeping strikes it eases up a bit as you just pull 2 mobs every time.

walk into Darkshore and find yourself dead every 2 seconds from bears randomly mauling you and you’ll discover true suffering
i’m in the tauren starting zone right now. taking a break waiting on retails stuff to reset and then maybe i’ll play him a bit more.
Go for top-end damage. Some folks will take a caster staff over a sword, mace or axe. If you can nab a current (for your level) rare staff with a 3.8+ swing speed, you’ll be curshing mobs regardless of the stats on it.

i like my warrior so far. i think i’ll take him to TB and buy him a new mace.
i really like the rend spell a lot too. though it’s not any good in retail. i guess unless you’re pvp focused. seems like a cool spell.
People saying warrior isn’t as bad to level as some people make it out to be…don’t lie lol
I’ve leveled a warrior to 60 numerous times…each time it doesn’t get any easier…you just get a little smarter about it.
OP, you’re only level 10. Every class is pretty much the same at that point. Give it a few more levels and you’ll see. When you get to level 16 or so, try killing 2 mobs at once and you’ll see.
I’m currently leveling a mage as an alt and my God, the difference is absolutely insane.

Warrior is the most expensive, slowest, and rewarding class in WoW. Advice for the quickest leveling is to farm DM until you get the Two-handed hammer. Use this hammer until 30-33 while working on getting WhirlWind Axe. You should be two-handed fury until level 40. Once you are level 40 switch to Arms. Stay Arms for PvP or until you gain 5%+ hit gear then switch to DW Fury.

People are really understating how tedious grinding warrior through the 20s and 30s is. Sure, you can do it. If you have first aid, alchemy, and food, it’s not that bad.
When they say it’s bad they’re comparing it to other classes. Your warlock can pull four mobs that are all higher level, fear them into another pack, and then beat them all down and somehow come out alive.
If you miscalculate as a warrior there is no recovery. It’s a graveyard trip. If you pull four or five mobs, GG. If you’re surgical in how you pull, though, it’s not that bad. Just keep that weapon up to date =)

From 10-26 isn’t bad either. Past lvl 26, idk.
In fact, I’ve actually be quicker leveling this warrior than a couple of other classes. If I’m going up against mobs my level, I can usually kill 3 or 4 before needing to eat, and can easily (very easily) kill two mobs at the same time.
If they’re mobs 2-3 levels lower than me (especially beasts because of my troll racial), then I can literally go for like 6-7 mobs before needing to stop and eat.
In case anyone is wondering, I’m 100% in the fury tree. I duel wield the sword from the WC quest along with a Meteor Dagger (I think it’s called something like that) from SFK. My armor isn’t great. Just some average green I got from trash mostly. I just about always have a food buff from cooking foods, and from lvls 5-22ish I actually had pots sent over from my main. The last few levels have been without pots. Questing in Hillsbrad.
I doubt anyone cares, just here to say that the grind to lvl 26 has been very quick and easy as a warrior for me

Warrior is faster in classic than private server IMO. Especially if you can keep your weapon relevant while leveling. Bandages, Firstaid and alchy Elixirs and pots make it crazy easy. that troll blood almost keeps you full hp by itself.
I even tried dual wield fury leveling and surprised at how good it was.
Im actually leveling a 2nd warrior now(one Horde one Alliance) its super easy if you have gold to feed em weapons or runs some dungeons for weapons. Im that strange guy that likes tanking…even for randoms.

Back when I leveled mine, I thought it’d be awesome to be DW Fury. Overall, that was really hard, as it’s hard to get enough hit rating while leveling. I switched to Arms and found it to be much better. Keeping one weapon up-to-date is a lot easier than 2!
This site has a very nice warrior weapon best in slot while leveling list (along with some other nice warrior leveling info):
wowisclassic.com/en/class-guide/warrior/leveling-1-60/
See sections 9 and/or 10 near the bottom.
Hope that helps!
