What lessons has Blizz learned from BfA?

Always curious to know if any lessons were learned and will be carried over to the future.

I do know of at least one lesson:

People don’t like endless grinds. Which is why they are capped Azerite grinding.

What other lessons do you think they have learned?

What lessons do you think they should have learned?

A “should have” learned (but likely won’t): People don’t like Pathfinder part 2. Part one okay, part two not so much.

Nerds don’t like it when female charaters beat up male ones. It makes them insecure.

I think they should have learned that an AP grind was a killer for alts and that never should be repeated.

People were literally begging for Tyrande to get a better win against Nathanos.

More on topic, I don’t think the things I want to change going forward are lessons Blizzard will have learned from BfA. They’re going to continue to cater to the lowest common denominator. They’re going to continue to make putting time and effort into the game a waste of time. I’m hoping I’m wrong and I fully plan on giving Shadowlands a chance, but I’m also ready to just unsub after 2 months for the first time ever.

None most likely :sleepy:

Agree with the Pathfinder thing, only part one unlocks flying in current content, if they want to have flying in a new patch zone, then by all means add a part two, but don’t lock flying in launch content behind a part that won’t be available until a year later.

  • Don’t make the “power item” some dumb slot like the “neck.” It made sense to have it the weapon, because your weapon Ilevel is a main part of your character’s power. So it was more fun to collect the junk, in Legion, since you knew that your WEAPON was getting better. They obviously didn’t, because they thought we’d think they were repeating the same thing (which we thought anyway, but now with a stupid neck slot.)

  • People are tired of the VS. thing, at least for PVE. We hated other faction tagging, in Legion, where we were otherwise “pals.” We hate it now. Reading about Shadowlands, I HOPE that is something that is gone.

Other stuff.

They seem to have at least learned the “tired of Dalaran” lesson. We have a shared city in Shadowlands, but at least it is not another “… SO, we uprooted Dalaran and flew it to these Shadowlands…”

I was hoping they learned that some people are tired of the contrived ways they extend the faction war,but they are so convinced that the entire identity of the franchise is so dependent on it that they can’t bring themselves to do anything different.

This as well, the faction war always feels forced and I find whenever it is the main focus, I enjoy the game far less.

Thats not the reason people are mad about the Shadowlands cinematic…

Who are you to ask multi-bazillion dollar companies if they “learned their lesson”? You’re hooked on their games no matter how they treat your time.

I sort of agree. But I think a distinction between endless and meaningless should be made.

There’s a grind that’s just more and more power, and there’s a grind where interesting choices can be made.

I think “most fans are 1000% done with Sylvanas by now” is a better summation.

This is a good trend.

What’s also a good trend is more screentime for Genn in…_Genn_eral. I really really like him as a racial leader.

I hear this nonsense a lot. Let me tell you a story. I remember there was a story being passed around of a “femen” terrorist picking a fight with a secret-service level bodyguard.

Long-story short the confrontation ended with the girl instantly taken to the ground in a headlock and the bodyguard was just casually sitting there, utterly bored. People photo-shopped the p news pictures into cologne ads.

Does that make you “insecure” to hear about it?

you might even refer to is as “revolutionary.”

You apparently forgot about the Tyrande outrage.

Apparently, based on what Shadowlands has shown us so far: nothing.

Same thing they learned from WoD and all the others NOTHING. Don’t you have a phone lol.

What lessons has Blizz learned from BfA?

Making the pre-purchase for the next Xpac available over a year in advance ensures they can keep doing what they do best.

They haven’t learned any lessons.

We’re just getting recycled content in Shadowlands with nothing new to show.
