What kind of mouse do you use for Wow?

I wish I knew how to make a poll (is that even possible?) but I’m really curious and want to learn what type of mouse most people use.

Do you use a:

  1. Simple 3 button mouse
  2. Standard 5-6 button gaming mouse
  3. Full blown MMO mouse with 12+ side buttons
  4. Something in between a standard 6 button and an MMO mouse.

At the moment I use a 6 button gaming mouse (Logitech G Pro Gaming Mouse) and I’m wondering if I should try a G502 or G600 next as I find I’d like at least a couple more buttons.

What do you use/want?

I have a Razor Naga Chroma with 12 side buttons, though I only use like 9 of them. Actually…no wait nevermind I only use 5-6 of them. But still! I’ve had it for some years now and it works, mostly.

A three button trackball with scroll wheel most of the time to not make my wrist angry. I also have a G604 with an MMO-mouse-like button pad on the side, but I haven’t done much in the way of gameplay that needs those buttons lately.

I just use the arrow keys to move the cursor.

I have a weird looking vertical ergonomic mouse that only I can use because my really fancy Razor Naga mouse died not long after I bought it. No more fancy stuff for me.

Roccat Nyth. LOVE this mouse and it’s starting to act up but there is nothing else that sets up the same way. Since they don’t make it any more, it would take $250 to get another one…and I’ve thought about doing it.

Full blown MMO mouse with 12+ buttons.

The Logitech G600 to be precise. Used Razer’s Naga series of mouses before that, but they always die and stop working correctly WAY too early for my liking.

Once I first started using one so many years ago, I knew I could never go back to not having so many buttons/keybinds all at the control of my mouse hand’s thumb. It’s just too convenient and makes almost any game significantly better/easier.

G502 , love the balance with the weights plus the light up
Only use two buttons but it has a bunch more.

Logitech MX518.
Have had it for around 10 years and it still works perfectly.
Has a couple of thumb buttons.

I had the same issue with Nagas but I didn’t learn my lesson until like 3 Naga mouses later lol.
After going through tons of forums and what not I learned about the Naga’s problem being pretty widespread and well known, and most people recommended Logitech as a much better and more durable option, which it definitely was and I never looked back after that. :stuck_out_tongue:

I had no idea they had problems, I just found it on a killer deal for like $20 so at least I didn’t waste much money on it. I got it to use it for a whole I think 2 months

I’m currently using a Razer Naga, so a 12-button MMO mouse. I tend to think Razer products are at least equal to the competition. People like to harp about them breaking easily, but, I mean, I use it several hours daily for general use and gaming and they last me about 2-3 years (and even then it tends to just be scroll wheel finicky-ness - not a total breakdown). You know what else lasts me about 2 years? Basically any Logitech product. All mainstream “Gaming” brands are basically the same thing.

Anyway, like I said, 12-button MMO mouse for now.

When I was spending a LOT more time on Overwatch I actually swapped to a Naga Hex, which is a 7 button ring on the side with an empty spot in the center where your thumb can rest without hitting any buttons. I swapped to it as a compromise because I kept accidentally hitting 1 or 2 when in firefights, which caused issues if I was playing a character like Mercy with multiple weapons - because I’d swap in the middle of combat when I didn’t want to.

The Hex was adequate for MMOs too, but I definitely was annoyed in certain games that didn’t let me keybind modifiers, because that’s typically how I made up the difference in # of buttons. WoW lets you do that, so nonissue there.

I don’t think I could willingly go back to a standard mouse with 0-2 side buttons. Having the extra buttons on the mouse is SO much more intuitive to me than trying to memorize where abilities are on basically every key on the left half of the keyboard. I hate the idea of that kind of keybinding madness. Give me a mouse.

Logitech G600. Best mouse for the $ in my opinion.

Naga chroma with all 12 buttons bound. I <3 it for click-casting heals with healbot. I also just got an Azeron keypad for my right-hand I’m trying to get used to.

  1. I have a Corsair rb65.

I use shift control and alt mods. In Cata I had 96 keybinds on my rogue and used a standard 6 button. Don’t need the extra buttons on mouse.

I had a career in software. I’ve been using a keyboard and mouse for 8-12 hours a day for 40+ years. For me, ergonomics (and avoiding carpal tunnel strain) is top priority. So I use a simple mouse and lots of keybinds. And I don’t do PvP. For me, nothing in a GAME is worth causing hours and days of pain.

That’s totally different from some lightning-fast 25-year-old, who doesn’t mind twisting and distorting his right hand to manipulate a gazillion buttons, just to cut down on second-fractions so his rogue can stun-blast-paralyze-whatever enemies in 1-on-1 duels.

I used to have a Logitech G600 MMO, which had 12 side buttons and extras around the mouse, it was great, I used it for like 6 years or more, then it broke and now for some reason here in my country its price tripled. It was a mouse id find for around 180BRL but now its between 500 and 600 lol

Now I am using a Logitech G502 Hero, which has 5 side buttons and is mega comfortable in the hand.
