I’m curious how you handle Paladins specifically as a Hunter. I can kite them for days pretty much but it feels like when I am engaging a Paladin 1 on 1 that there health just doesn’t go down.
I was in a BG the other day took me 3 minutes of kiting to get a Paladin to half health, only managed to close the deal because someone came by to help. This is usually how my paladin encounters go either I get help and Paladin dies or Paladin gets help and I die - that doesn’t seem right… I think maybe I’m doing something wrong.
Another BG I was in it must have been 3 or 4 of us on top of this one paladin down the tunnel… Geez louise Paladins are like mini bosses almost they just don’t seem to go down without a massive struggle.
So I figured I’d ask for advice since I’d like to know how to handle Paladins better. I don’t seem to have any issue with any other class except them. Is it a bad match up for hunters? Something in my arsenal or rotation I could do better?
Any advice be appreciated. (Hopefully nothing too harsh )
When I’m in BG’s I use my pet Silithid since they got what’s called tendon rip. Generally helps slow down opponents so I can lock them down and killem. Specially handy for classes with lots of mobility. (Oh and Dune Strider that makes my pet faster easier to catch people)
Just bait out their CDs and they are cake. Keep in mind, you’ll have to make them blow lay on hands, word of glory, divine shield and hand of protection. If you’re lucky, you can kill them after using one of these abilities before the debuff wears off to use their next CD.
With no CDs, they melt like butter and hit like a wet noodle.
Are you geared well on your main? We have defensive abilities but our mobility is non-existant so in an extrended fight as you mentioned you should be able to kill the paladin.
Also for the person who posted the bubble meme… it’s not really the issue bubbles I’d expect but in the initial engagement against a paladin feeling like I’m fighting superman like my bullets/arrows just bounce right off… and my pets are just dancing around them even with beastial wrath, my killer instinct looks like a nibble.
Granted when I hit most things I can kinda gage the ilvl gap… but this is going for most paladins I’ve encountered… all pretty blood elf ladies for some reason to…
There could be multiple things, it could be your talents are the best for pvp or that you don’t have enough corruption or that your azerite traits are wrong/ not level 3.
Usually the problem with paladins is their bubbles and their damage. Outside of their bubbles
Trying gearing up, when I was 440 ilvl I only crit people for 62k. Got some gear and cloak and now I hit for 100k on burst and doubled my haste.
also I wouldn’t say its a bad matchup at all. you will need to kite them around quite a bit but with disengage removing snare, it’s not hard. Pally slow is on a pretty long CD. Make sure you are not backpeddling!
I silence, tar and stun them and use my trinket that steals their healing and gives it to me. Punting them off the cliffside is also very funny. I only have issues with paladins when they have help or their ilvl is considerably higher than mine. Otherwise, it amounts to “kite kite kite, wait til they blow their load, stunlock, lightbulb flash, die die die die die!”…and then they’re dead.
