I was there for vanilla and I would never go back. it was the best time in wow IMO but the moment has passed and there is really no going back. sure it’s ok to visit or for newer players to see what it was like but I can’t imagine playing classic ever again

Retail being better for what I enjoy in every way possible.
A better end game. Better class design. Better spec design. Better raids. Dungeons that matter.
If someone enjoys classic. Awesome. I am happy classic exists for people that like it. It doesnt do anything for me personally.

M+ is my primary endgame content now, classic doesn’t have it so pretty much just that

My guild. (Not the one on this forum character, but still.)
They’re my family and I’ve raided with them for over a decade now, and still more years to come. I’ve no reason to leave.
Retail is my “social” game.
That said though, I play both Retail and Classic. Specifically Season of Discovery. They’re both fun in their own ways, different games, different paces.

I played Classic through to WOTLK, saw how much they screwed that up, went back to retail because I hate the changes and I hate Cataclysm.

Because I made a night elf on classic hardcore, went to attack a boar . . . and hand to melee it with a dagger.
Then I saw “skill with a dagger +1”
Then I realized it took me like a whole minute to kill the boar
And I had to kill 7 more of them. And nothing was marked as to where they were.
Then I remembered I did that grind almost 20 years ago and went back to retail.
In otherwords, my Hardcore night elf hunter failed because classic is boring with tedious mechanics.

Plus transmog is pretty much what drives me to push any kind of content.
