The dream that one day I might get rank 1 or close to it. But bfa kinda ruined it for me. I spent most of the week grinding then at the end of the week I have time for like 3-4 hours of arenas but I spend half that time looking for a group, end up just doing a few matches, not really gaining much ratings, then calling it a week. zzzz

I wonder why though. Doesn’t sound like a game that would be to difficult to make. All you need is a game with different classes or fighting styles with customization from gear/talents/stats, add some 1v1, 2v2, 3v3 etc different maps and battlegrounds and you have a perfect arena based game.
Objectively, WoW is an amazing product. It is one of the best games on the market currently, and is a serious contender for one of the best games of ALL TIME.
Blizzard is no slouch either. They’ve given us 16 years of stellar service.

PvP’ing is enjoyable to me. I was pretty happy from a PvP perspective from MoP-Legion(WotLK too). BfA has done it’s best to try and ruin the game for me though. We’ll see how SL plays out but can’t see myself playing WoW much if it’s not drastically different.
I’m in the same boat albeit not for R1, but just looking to play games with decent players. Really hard to find anyone that is similar xp that fits into a proper comp that will also play more than 10 games before leaving to go eat or something lol.

I don’t know why I play WoW anymore. I don’t even know how they could make me enjoy this stuff any more. I think a large part of it has been the dailies, weeklies, and patch pushes that have just largely led me to dislike WoW. I basically login now to do rep grinds while I watch tv shows. Only time I remember in the year or so that I felt excited to login was when I was competing in the gcdtv RBG tournaments. The endless AP grinds, warforging/titanforging, and the entire 8.3 corruption system make WoW feel like a really bad mobile game without the option to buy my way ahead. I just hope Shadowlands makes me want to play again.
