What keeps unequiping my weapon?

Randomly maybe once or twice a day my damage nose dives and my weapon is unequipped.

I think it happens on death but not sure. Not every time I die but it seems like when I notice it I’ve died recently.

…you don’t have a fishing macro to equip a fishing pole, do you? I cant think of any mob abilities that would do that.

No thought that at first. I have a fishing set but it has a hat and boots and this was just the weapon. Tested just using the generic fishing pole and it didn’t switch out the weapon.

Happened mid instance once as well. And someone else in guild said it was happening to them.

It’s been strange lately,even my gear changed when i came out of one the scenarios had to go back and transmog again.

The first thing I would check is make sure my gear isn’t broke.

I was on the last boss in Mythic Plaguefall when I realize my daggers completely broke and half my gear. Punching the boss with my fists didn’t do too much.

Do you do PvP? My gear set doesnt change back to veng set after I come out of a BG.

Also for a while my “sets” werent registered correctly as it kept equiping heart of azeroth and the cloak.

Id suggest “resaving” you curremt equipment sets.

No PvP.

Doesn’t look to be a widespread issue so right now I’m guessing a addon is the most likely suspect

There is a rare that does that, the weapon goes flying and you have to run and grab it. Other than that, I don’t know what it could be.

When I log in the character screen may be showing my character wearing gear I was sure I transmogged away last time I logged in. The character screen is often wrong.

It happen in game when i came out the gear was the gear i had before the scenario like hours ago, a glitch or it didn’t take completely. Maybe i shouldn’t restarted the game so it would catch on the data.

If you hit that macro while fighting, it will only change your weapon and not your gear, as you cannot swap gear while under attack.

It sounds like you have a bad bind or macro, but the only true way to rule things out is to do the following:

  1. Close out of the game completely
  2. Rename your WTF and interface folders
  3. Launch the game
  4. Log into a character
  5. Hit escape and go to keybindings
  6. Make sure the “character specific key bindings” option is unchecked
  7. Hit the reset to default button and close out of the menu
  8. Run the command: /console cvar_default
  9. Run the command /reload (saves everything and writes macros/cvars and such to the server)

See if that fixes the problem. Oh and make sure to redo your graphics settings and such.

EDIT: As someone else brought up, it might be wardrobe sets from changing specs.

Do you use gear sets? Aka healing, tanking, etc.

When you que for an instance it will auto switch to that gear set. It should switch back when you leave

No,don’t have an addon that does that ,had too many problems before with it so i removed it.

That is where I would start… Disable them all and slowly start adding them back in… Play for a while, add another one back… Eventually you should find the offending addon.

But when it happens it’s not that my fishing pole is equipped, my weapon is just in my bags.

But maybe that’s what is happening, haven’t been on to test if the gear set during combat doesn’t equip the fishing pole.

EDIT: Tested and hitting the fishing set macro in combat swaps in the fishing pole which isn’t what’s happening.
