What is your opinion on bringing back unobtainable items?

I really don’t care about rarity. It’s about distributing the correct items to the mass without sacrificing race identity. Making the War Bear a FOMO was certainly a mistake in the long run. Even now you can get specific racial items (LFD weapons comes into mind) as an achievement or rare drop.

Thank you I will. Will also have fun with other artifacts that are unrelated to lore apart from base item.

It’s not a mass distributed item. It’s intended as a prestige reward.

Just because of weird attachments, you think everyone should have access to it with ease.

Whatever your headcanons, doesn’t mean loot should be easier to access.

So now you have a future situation where you think an item is a racial item, doesn’t mean that you should have access to it.

At that point, what’s the difference between an item you can’t get it ( that’s in the game.) And an item you can’t get, because it’s not obtainable anymore? You’re not getting it either way.

We’re probably going to get some elf cosmetics thanks to Xal’atath.

Obviously, certain items are more rare than others - but we will not sacrifice racial sets and vanity items for this, especially when those races have not much choices to begin with. I’m fine with FOMO items but not at the cast of player race fantasies.

It’s a game design mistake then, simply put. The developer team is prone to put names and items into a mix and either don’t know what is lore correct or make them FOMO without realizing the damage they do. The current Forsaken items are incorrect colorized, as an example. The upcoming HMT-mounts are factually wrong, they use eagles.

These people should pay more attention to what they do.

No, a mythic mount that people can get many years after doesn’t even fall under the current definition of FOMO.

Should have said “more and more one off FOMO”. I don’t care about M+ and pvp mounts or whatever.

I’ve never understood the mad obsession with collections in the game, so that makes me a bit biased, but… bring back anything and everything imo because rarity doesn’t matter. What I really like about the mounts, xmogs, toys, etc. is the creativity of how to put things together and when to flash them. It lets players express themselves… it’s not a rarity = value thing to me in most cases.

I think any sort of philosophy would wreck you. I don’t think reality means what you think it does.

Are you ever going to answer the question? Hey, I’m stupid, so don’t think I’ll be offended if you use the small words. You did say that yes you think that it is important, in your opinion, but you left out the why. You gave the existence of threads as evidence of this, but not the ‘why’ of it.

Dig a little. Why are people behaving this way?

For me, I don’t mind so much if items come back, but it depends on the item and any agreement whether it be implied or explicit between Blizzard and the players.

I would rule out most PVP items in the way that they already do. And the achievements that go with them. And I would do the same for raiding and other PVE content.

Recolors and such are great. They let that artwork out into the world for more people to enjoy it. And some of these have some pretty cool flavor text added to them.

If I wear my favorite players jersey or cap when I go outside (as if that’s going to happen) do you think I’m in any danger of someone approaching me for an autograph? Will I be surrounded by paparazzi? No. The most likely thing is that I may meet another person with a jersey or cap. And we will instantly try to unalive each other because we are on opposite teams. Okay, kidding. What may happen instead is that we both recognize each other as people that appreciate the finer things in life, and we may have a discussion about how we got those finer things.

Hey, maybe that person I meet on this imaginary day when I leave the house and go outside really is a retired ball player. And they can tell me what it was like, and I can get an autograph.

LOL, that would be cool. Imagine if gear had an autograph tab, and players that obtained the gear on release could sign it for you. Wow, imagine THAT as the new collectors meta!

Peace and love guys. Or at least don’t try to unalive each other.

it really was though

80% of the characters i did it on never did group content beyond lfr, most of the time it was just catch up gear given to you by the game

most of the power came from the capped weapon

I’m against the idea of removing content from the game to artificially inflate its value. Just put it all back in.

Not a chance.

It is because those items are gone that people want them back. It works and it should continje as a trend

Absolutely false.

Cool looking items are cool because they look cool. Not because of some rarity nonsense.

Too bad, you can get the new soon unobtainable items going away this season. Let others have their earned rewards and tokens from a different time

yep, if thunderfury was an ugly mog i wouldnt of spent 5months farming it, the rarity aspect just happened to be a thing. People in wow like rarity to be either special ponies or they want their account to look valuable. they treat the game either like a 2nd life and roleplay as an intolerant hoarder or they treat their account like an NFT, the idea that someone could have something of equal worth to them is so unfathomable and rage-inducing they go on forums frantically whining and hope they are a vocal enough minority for blizz to listen to. its just cringe ngl

or my tcg items are technically “unobtainable” since they got discontinued i believe, with rmt being the only factor to get em which the same can be said about other types of unobtainable items in the game since ppl can just buy an account(not encouraging this btw)

i loved when the tcg items became twitch drops, it was a false sense of scarcity that made players believe their characters had “worth” if the only thing that connects you to an item is a pricetag or rarity then ur priorities are scuffed. what makes items mean something to me is 2 factors, Looking cool and the experience i had when getting it. If it doesnt check both boxes then i dont want it

And if grinding trivial stuff is a valuable experience…

which item you referring to

now if ur gonna ask about how fun 1shotting old bosses is, ill agree its mostly boring. but thats also why me and others in the thread said “if they bring back unobtainable items, then make it engaging” which tbh i did enjoy getting thunderfury. especially when you study the lore about ragnaros, MC/BRM. Im pretty deep in the dark iron/wildhammer fantasy so i liked getting that mog for sure, it couldve been more engaging tho from a gameplay perspective

Does it even matter since you are not even listening? All you are doing is going around telling people how everything we have to say is wrong and how you are oh so right and only your opinion matters.

And when we make a genuine argument and you have nothing to say? “OmG cOPe MucH?”

Literally every person here is against you, get the hint dude, you are wrong.

If you were playing the game then you have literally zero excuse. You were here. You didn’t put the effort in you didn’t get the rewards. Everything about dead server and no guild is pure cope by you.

You have yet to make a legitimate argument. You have done nothing but make excuse after excuse.

If a bunch of people are against me when I say 2 plus 2 equals 4 that doesn’t magically make you correct. That’s not an argument.

You have a bunch of entitled children whining and throwing tantrums because they can’t have what they want.

And you also ignored the multiple people agreeing with me too.
