What is your mount farming strategy?

I find myself having a tough time farming mounts. I do a random handful a week on 3-4 toons just based on how I feel. I don’t know if that’s hurting me or not as I feel like I have the worst mount luck in the world. What strategies do use? Do you hard focus specific mounts or just do randoms based on how you feel like me? Maybe I’m self sabotaging.

Edit: Appreciate all the feedback. Think I’m going to peel off the drop chance mounts for a while and focus on guaranteed grinds. Especially since I don’t have an army of alts.

Throw as many alts at a boss/rare/whatever as I can.

do you deviate from that or just leave them parked at a specific instance?

Last week I did about 16 alts for the world boss in BfA, I usually do the same for things like SoO (which I finally got the shoulders AND the mount) and ICC until I can’t take it anymore. Lately it’s been about 2 weeks straight of farming followed by like, a three week break. xD

I focus on one thing. Doing more burns me out because I have a lot of alts.

Don’t really have one. If it drops-- it drops, if not; I try again later.

16 dang, I have 1 60 and 3 inthe 50s range that I’m leveling to 60 now. Maybe I just need more alts lol

I don’t even know how many I have. Not trying to be funny, I just haven’t counted in along time.

Just counted, not admitting to anything.

Ngl this is coming from jealousy. My brother plays too and we play and farm roughly the same amount and he has twice the mounts I do. I’m losing it here lol

More alts help but don’t over-do it. I was doing the SoO grind on ONE toon because the walking and RP in that raid is just too much for 16 alts.

I have all 5 of my leather guys doing EN for the leather shoulders. But all my toons do ICC. I literally have every 25 heroic item from that raid.

I have been adding to my alt army since TBC, and just maintaining them. Having many high level toons increases odds. Like buying extra lottery tickets.

Make sure, very sure, that you have collected all of the easy ones.
Going for the RNG mounts has to be an extra on-the-side thing; have the tv on.

I choose a mount I want to farm, run the dungeon, don’t get the mount, lose interest, and forget to try again the following the week.

Pretty sure I have all the easy/guaranteed ones. I’m sitting at 210 mounts as we speak. Rookie numbers.

I bring a friend along when I farm for mounts. She ends up getting the drop, every dratted time, especially when its soulbound. :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s me and my brother every time. I swear he has a hidden mount drop buff!

I don’t waste time with farming, I start drinking heavily at 7am and by 9am all my mounts look like invincible.

On the first page of you mount collection I’m seeing a lot of missing vendor mounts.

Maybe I should just give up on the drop mounts and do all the achiev/rep ones
