We had one of the most HILARIOUS
Zul’Gurub
runs yesterday with our Guild!
What seems to be a Perfect recipe for Disaster,
is also a super fun thing to watch after!
We Had:
- People Losing World Buffs to the First Bosses / Packs of Trash Mobs

- Pulling Bosses on Accident when no one is ready

- People falling from the bridge and dying before summon

- Healers trying to help and resurrect these people, and falling down themselves

- Retro Paladins too proud to cast Blessing of Freedom, so our tanks had to buy FAPs instead

Overall was still one of our fastest ZG runs to this day, which is very surprising considering the amount of F-ups we had
What was your funniest ZG run?
Do you prefer having a professional team clearing ZG in less than 1 hour, or fun and friends come first?
Down below is the clip from the last night so you guys know what it was like !
Looting a skull pile, and then one of our cocky rogues getting two-shotted by one of our Rank 14 fury warriors when he got mind controlled.

how long it took to finish it?
2 hours 15 minutes
If it wasn’t for Jin’Do the Hexxer wipe, would have completed it in less than 2 hours

Up to a point I don’t much care how long a run lasts as long as everyone is having fun together in voice/in-game chat. Yesterday I was doing a ZG and two friends were RP walking their Noggenfoggered shrunken mounts in circles around my legs before a boss pull. It was hilarious as even mounted they didn’t come up past my characters waist.
Also things like this although it usually is more like: “hey i’m MC’d go ahead and kill me” in voice and then several other players obliterate them while the raid lead is saying “Don’t kill them”. It seems to happen about once a run.

We’re really big about not killing players via friendly fire. In this case, the MC’d warrior killed the rogue in the first couple seconds before we could get a Polymorph out.
Killing them is faster than waiting out the MC. And they dont take durability hit from it.
The funniest ZG moment I’ve had recently was a double screw up on Venoxis – we managed to chain the lightning and kill 14 players despite my usual admonitions that this was a bad thing we should avoid. Quick thinking survivors reset the boss by running outside and … pulling the two pack walking down the road. They manage to kill the pack and rez the raid, not technically a wipe, right?
Ok, reset, routine kill blah blah blah boss starts doing his green aoe as the tank kites him around and right. off. the. cliff. into. the. river. Boss resets, tank and one melee are left in the river being eaten by a rabid fish and begging for a summons. Raid is laughing hysterically. You probably had to be there, but just be warned, that Venoxis will reset if you kite him off the side.

Do you guys have a clip of that?
That is the funniest Venoxis story i’ve heard
We pulled the outside snakes during the reset 1 time too - but we couldn’t kill and wiped
Lol i can’t imagine how funny it was watching the tank run off the cliff hahaha
I feel like that moment deserves to be reanimated, just like the infamous Leeroy Jenkins video.
Ok, It’s BWL but not ZG, but my Casual guild were on Firemaw a couple of weeks ago and this happened.
The most fun guild runs in ZG (& dungeons/raids in general) were before we were sufficiently geared/over-geared for them. Now, they are all just boring.

I can’t imagine actually having to use a FAP in ZG. I mean there are some annoying root mechanics, but nothing that can’t be fixed by having your other tank taunt and run the boss back to MT. Or just let the weak boss beat on random players for a few seconds before the root wears off
Have you done Molten Core / BWL / Onyxia or Battlegrounds before ZG was out?
Because most of our guild hit level 60 just recently, so this is the raid where we are gearing up!
Most of us still had gear from UBRS / LBRS and Blackrock Depths before we started our ZG, so the bosses really hit very hard on the rest of the raid and sometimes even tanks can go down if struck with 2-3 lucky crits…
I understand! Another strat for the bosses that tend to run away from main tank is to have your offtank stand away from boss with the casters so he doesnt get rooted and then he just taunts the boss and runs him back to MT. This can save your tank a few gold on consumes everytime he has to do this. No huge deal, but already can be tough to even get your tanks to want to use FAPs on fights that almost require them sometimes lol.
Have you ever wiped on Tiger / Raptor bosses just because you didn’t have enough DPS?
I remember we used to finish runs on these bosses, and they would get away with 5-10% hp. Was super fun though!!! Trying to stay alive, and the boss fight would take x10 longer, than now.
Those bridges are bugged!
First week someone fell and I went to back because I was like “How?”, then proceeded to fall through myself.
Even just last week we had a few extra pulls that wiped everyone but me and like 4 other people. Us 5 zone out run back in and I go flying off the bridge into a pack of crocs.

We just use spell reflect zanza and kill venoxis
We did one a while back with like 14-16 people, ended up losing a decent chunk of people on panther and had no healers left.
One of the rogues left up had cables though, he spaced a bit and didn’t use them for a few minutes so I had to remind him. He used those cables on me instead of a healer to rez people.
God, I miss him.
