I used to be well known for my antics in off-hours wintergrasp back in wotlk. I would wait for the alliance to win WG then fly in from icecrown and land on the wall above the quartermaster in the courtyard and gank players while they try to buy stuff.
Back in the day I had a guild on Wyrmrest Accord (RP) (Horde)
There was such a thing as Guild Levels. The max was 25.
My guild was the first guild on the realm to make level 25. I was not particularly working on that but one day it popped up on my screen. I thought it was a mistake, but I will take it.
I used to be on Medivh and I was present for the world first opening of the AQ gates.
Around the beginning of TBC, I transferred to Proudmoore, and I was present when IQD was opened (we were the first realm to do it).
In Wrath doing Prot Paladin and DW frost tank guides (one of many that popped up back then), and a few raid guides for Tanks (Naxx, Strath (normal/3D), ToGC)
Had a few people from my server at the time (Sisters of Elune Horde) recognize me when they saw me out in the world.
While I was stationed in Iraq, I was playing on a private WotLK server because of bandwidth issues with regular WoWâŚand I carried on a brief text conversation with Luke Combs while questing in Dragonblight. He wasnât playingâŚI was chatting with him via FB Messenger.
I beat mitch jones and snutz in 2s arena and ended their 98-0 streak its on his yt channel
I looted the Thundering Onyx Cloud Serpent mount three times in a row and frustrated everyone who was there grinding it with me. Thatâs it. Thatâs all I got.
same.
And theyâve gotten orderly like that every year, for about 5 years.
Takes about 20 minutes to get them settled thoughâŚ
For a couple of weeks back in the summer of 2016 I actually forgot the Sunwell.
I developed a Mage tanking strat on ZulâGurub trash back in Vanilla. Idk if it was actually optimal or novel, but I was in charge of ZG raiding and figured this particular set of trash was better handled by sending our 2-3 Mages in with all healers prioritizing us as we Arcane Explosioned the crap out of a large pack. If I remember I made this call (and we stuck to it from there on) because Iâd routinely get aggro and die immediately when trying to AoE these guys, so I just said F it letâs make the Mages tanks.
I still occasionally (and often drunkenly) bring it up to my guild when jokingly pontificating about my raid leading prowess.
Time for a recount?
Wow you had a billion posts on the old forums. When did they change it to these forums?
IIRC it was Oct or Nov of 2018.
Eh not quite me but Iâm friends with a guy who goes by Count Jackula. His brother works at bethesda and if you played Fallout 4, he based Hancock off Jackula. This is also why the option for Count and Jackula is available for names.
Anyway back to WoW. He streamed himself fishing in Legion a few years ago. He later chatted with folks from Blizzard ( Since some folks at Bethesda and Blizzard are buddy buddies ) and apparently some of them just liked listening to the stream while they were working on stuff.
sighs
I miss my forum count. I donât have an exact number screenshot but I know it was at least over 60k
You were higher than that. I wanna say 72k.
Good timesâŚ
Mine are old and from the end of WOTLK and early CataâŚ
I had a top 3 world Arcane Mage DPS on Saurfang in heroic ICC during progression on Heroic LK.
I was part of a top 100 US heroic Lich King kill and that youtube video has like 15k views, pretty cool considering it was uploaded 10 years ago.
In Cata I set a top 5 world Fire Mage DPS record on Halfus when Ignite and Combustion was fun
Probably a couple others I canât remember.
My ele shaman was despised back in Wrath because word got out to the Alliance that I was psychic and knew all their plans in Wintergrasp before they even started. Obviously that wasnât the case and I just showed up early, diving down from Icecrown and landing on the wall, then spamming farsight to see who was building what and where they were amassing it so my team wouldnât get bamboozled going after a small force when a larger force was creeping up the other side.
