I’m using a Logitech mechanical keyboard because it does the loud clicky thing, which I really enjoy, much to the annoyance of everyone around me. I have both the Logitech G600 and the Corsair Scimitar MMO mouse. The Corsair has a better overall ergonomics, but the buttons are right next to the desk, so it’s annoying to click the ‘1’. Both mice have issues with USB 3 unless you get the right set of drivers/firmware for you system, but once you get driver issues worked out, they both work OK.
I used to have a Wolfpad, waaaay back in the day. It’s a circular keyboard with all the major keys for an FPS, but it worked really well for WoW. I liked it so much I ordered another one recently from Eastern Europe. The MMO mouse takes care of everything so I don’t really need it, but it’s a nice thing to hang on the wall.
What about you? Do you have a specialized setup for playing MMOs, or have you mastered the tried and true keyboard/mouse setup? Or gasp, have you adapted a controller for WoW?
Leopold FC750R Tenkeyless Cherry MX Black mechanical keyboard with a Razer Naga Trinity, that I’m dead-set on upgrading to a Trinity Pro once I’m able to afford doing so.
Do you know why full sized keyboards are so taboo in the mechanical keyboard culture? I want to build my own, but getting full sized keyboard plates is hard to do. Just curious.
I’m using a Razer Black Widow TE Chroma V2, which is a tenkeyless mechanical keyboard with Razer’s versions of mx blues, a Logitech G502, and a Corsair HS60 headset
For a lot of people it’s mostly space-saving. Others just really like the clean, minimalistic looks. Most folks who look into buying mechanical keyboards do so for gaming, much of which does not use the numerical keypad.
I stopped using Razer stuff when I got one of those keyboards with the ‘Media Touchpad’. The ‘J’ key didn’t work unless I put a quarter on the media pad. It was pretty ridiculous. The ‘J’ key is pretty important. Not as important as say, an ‘E’ key, but still. It should work.
I’m using a Corsair Scimitar MMO mouse alongside a HyperX mechanical keyboard (gotta have that clickety-clack).
I do, also, use ConsolePort and an xBox controller with the little keyboard attachment for typing when I feel like reclining on the couch and playing on the TV.
My wife is in the same room as me; she uses a Corsair K68 w/cherry reds. Her’s are obviously way quieter, but I had a hard time with reds since i’m a hard typer and tended to double type a lot and it caused a lot of spelling errors.
Just got Logitech G502 for my mouse a month or 2 ago, love it so far. A redragon mechanical keyboard with red switches, it was cheap and mechanical so I went with it and it’s still good
It’s a cyperpowerPC Wired Keyboard with multimedia functions. Nothing too crazy there. I guess it’s mechanical because it’s very clicky when i type. And dear lord, the words on the keys on the left side is smeared off from use. Thank god for muscle memory and WASD keys being red.
And i got an Easterntimes Tech 2.46hz wireless optical mouse, because i gotten tired of the drag of the cables my old mice did.
In my case, the arrow/home/end cluster and the numpad just take up space and collect dust most of the time, as well as push my pointing device too far off to the right. The only time I find a numpad useful is when doing 3D modeling in Blender, but in that situation I’d rather have a separate numpad I can only pull out when needed and place to the left of my keyboard.
