A lot of people see a certain point as the point where you “beat” WoW’s current patch at things like KSM, AOTC, or clearing Mythic. What is your big moment that you are going for for the entire patch?
i raided in vanilla with a guild called Ascended on Arthas Alliance, i stopped raiding through BC but in Wrath wanted to try again. they all joined a guild called Let’s Go Burgling and they were pretty top tier at the time. They gave me a tryout as a Paladin tank, with a druid off tanking. I got 13 pieces of plate tank gear in 1 run through ICC 25.
I was so geared at the time when VOA launched the new fire boss, tanks swap every 5-6 stacks, the OT died in 30 seconds and i tanked the boss to like 100 stacks and we beat it. That was the 1 moment in wow when people were legitimately impressed with me, of course it was the healers that made it possible. Those were my “i beat the patch” moments and I have barely raided since.
Champion of the Naaru was mine. I really wanted Hand of A’dal, but never got it.
For me, I feel like I have already beat the patch. I can’t upgrade my gear any further without doing mythic+, heroic raiding, or ranked pvp. And all of those are .
I’ve beaten the covenant campaign, and next week will be rank 40 reknown. There will be no reason for me to play my main except to collect transmogs/pets/mounts and RP.
Main objective right now is to get the Mythic+ mount. But then I have other ‘‘nice to have’’ things like the 1400 pvp mount…
My guild finished Glory of the Nathria Raider last night. It’s the first time I’ve gotten one of the meta achievements during current content. Considering I don’t raid Mythic I doubt there will be anything fancier for me to push for really.
I was ecstatic last night about it tho.
My old alliance mage still has the original quests to complete this (with the original quest IDs).
In theory, if I went and completed them, I would be awarded with the title. I know this for sure, because others did it and were awarded the title well after Wrath launched. Also, theoretically, I could share those quest IDs with other people.
The sad truth is: I don’t even care to do so.
Edit: Apparently they fixed this in the WoD patch, and can’t do it regardless of whether you have the original quest IDs. Now I’m tempted to log in and see if that’s true…
AotC is always my main “I beat the patch” moment. That and KSM for the mount this year. Otherwise as far as my main goes, I’m pretty done.
I’ll dabble in alts eventually. Right now there are other games I want to play.
Clearing normal is always my end game.
I don’t really have any of those. The closest was in BfA, but still had a lot to do when I got it. I completed the achievement Two Sides to Every Tale, and also unlocked every Allied Race . Mechagnomes were my last unlock, either before or during 8.3, and I moved on to completing other things.
When a new patch came out and I realized that I just didn’t care enough to do any of the content anymore.
Edit - Real Answer? beating the Lich King and achieving “Of The Black Harvest” were both really important moments for me.
I’m already done with the patch, and had two major goals:
- Kill Heroic Denathrius
- Get Cryptkeeper title
I’ve done both of these, so I basically raid log now. I had leveled some alts but it’s such a chore to keep them up to date and re-grind everything that I just stopped caring, since Blizz and most of the community doesn’t seem to care about it either.
I dont. I just sit on my pc one day and go “meh i dont feel like playing wow” and then play something else. Then come back 10 yrs later.
Killing the final boss in that patch in any difficulty is pretty much game over. After that it is just grind other stuff or repeat on higher difficulty yup repeat
For this patch it will be getting 40 renown. Then I’m gonna stop playing. There’s much better mmo’s to spend my time on and I have zero desire to do any instanced content, which is sadly all end game is in WoW.
For me it’s probably finishing all solo content these days. Maybe jumping a little bit higher to feel just a little bit ahead of the solo curve.
Beating the Lich King back in 3.3.
AOTC…KSM…mythic
In that order
I’m currently a bronze star
You can’t share those quests. Otherwise there would be a market right now for people getting the titles (anything exploitable is bound to become popular until it is nerfed in these days). I think in legion and later on people were still getting the titles. Also you have to be level 70 (w/e that is now, or if that is still active after squish) to turn in the champion of naaru quest.
AOTC + Elite PvP mog = beaten patch.
For 9.0.5 it’ll be timing a 15 in each dungeon.
