What is your favourite healer?

I have all healing classes at max level currently, except Pally which is 61 and I’ll get there shortly, and it got me wondering. What is everyone’s favourite healing class? And why?

Currently, I’d have to say Mistweaver. Something about being in melee doing damage and healing really feels good. I do like catweaving as a Resto Druid but it is a lot more complicated than something like Mistweaver.

If I’d have to rank them (leaving out Holy Pally for now):

  1. Mistweaver
  2. Resto Druid
  3. Resto Shaman
  4. Preservation
  5. Holy Priest
  6. Disc Priest (there is something that just isn’t clicking for me with Disc)

What about you??

My list is pretty much the reverse of yours. I truly loved MW in MoP, and felt progressively less in love with it as the expansions rolled.

Disc is my love, my life.

It’s been Mistweaver since I made this guy in MoP.

Buffs, nerfs, doesn’t matter.

I just struggle with Atonement uptime. I’m so used to the style of HoT that I feel like Atonement’s uptime is just too short. But I know the squid does a lot of healing too. I just can’t seem to get into the groove.

Mistweaver, I like healing, but I prefer to be melee. It’s also funny that I get to kick enemies in the face to heal other.

I like preservation too, except for the lack of range. I may prefer melee, but if I’m gonna be a caster healer, I would rather have the full range that other healers get. Except for with the empowered conal spells, I can understand those being limited.

  1. Resto Sham: My main healer. Idk, I like the play style and the multiple oh crap buttons.
  2. Mistweaver: Unique playstyle. Love the fistweaving. Feels like it has good oh crap moves as well:
  3. Holy Priest: Nice and simple, mostly.
  4. Prevoker: I like how different the playstyle is but sometimes feels like to many buttons. Can’t do heal/hamr macros with the “hold down to empower” moves.
  5. Disc Priest: Very difficult to play, IMO. I got to 2k dungeon rating but it was a struggle. Prefer other straightforward healers.
  6. Holy Paladin: Has always felt weaker especially while leveling. The leveling experience makes me not want to even try it at endgame.
  7. Resto Druid: Why I have no mana all the time? I don’t understand.

I’ve really liked Disc in DF. I think resto Shaman always feels good to me, even when under tuned. Rolled a fourth resto shammy yesterday, in fact.

I wanna put more time into MW and Pres Evoker.

Im currently enjoying Rsham and Disc the most.

In the past it was always Rdruid, still find them fun, just trying out other healers for now. Hard to beat the RDruid mobility though, so i typically find myself coming back.

I would have to say:

  1. Resto Shammy
  2. Pres Evoker
  3. Holy Pally
  4. Holy Priest
  5. Resto Druid
  6. Disc Priest

Haven’t touched Mistweaver at all this expansion. Heck, haven’t touched Monk since probably WOD.

I just like raw throughput over setup/predicting. Any healer that you have take several steps of setup or predicting incoming damage to setup damage reduction just doesn’t jive with me. Much prefer to be the reactive healer.

Definitely MW. Nothing is more satisfying than kicking and punching your enemies in the face so hard that it heals your allies. Also they’re very versatile to where you can be in melee or in range if things get heated.

Resto druid is my favorite when it comes to actually healing except I hate the dps, so clunky and bad and a healer having 4 dots to manage is transparently insane (5 if you consider adaptive swarm). If they gave rdruid a humanform ranged interrupt, buffed humanform wrath and starfire by 300% and made those restore 2000/3000 mana each it would be an instant main swap for me.

I havent played them all, but I can disc, resto, and now MW. between these 3, my main is my disc priest. I am totally comfortable with resto, but MW i just learned about a week ago and it kinda makes me nervous not to have any shields but I do like playing it.

Only Holy Priest. Pure healer. Only other one is Resto shaman but I just don’t want to play with totems.

HoT healing and DPSing to heal does not appeal to me.
