What is your favorite memory in WoW?

So this post is going to be more of a positive one in a way. I’d like to know a few things from all of you

  1. How long you’ve been playing World of Warcraft?
  2. What your favorite memory in all of you’re playing time is.

I will go first

  • My account was created in December of 2004. I have been actively subscribed ever since.
  • My favorite memory was the World of Warcraft Lich King launch event. I had the most Friends plane during that expansion and it was just an all-around good time. It’s also the only time I took time off work to play WoW. I was horrid at the time and my server had a giant wolf parade everyone was on a wolf mount NPC walking through the city

Come on let’s reminisce a bit guys!

I often wonder how different my life would be if I had just tossed that “7-day free trial” CD in the trash

One hot summer day in late-2006 (July? August? I don’t remember) I went out to check my mailbox… and there it was: a so-called “7-day free trial” CD from Blizzard :face_with_monocle:

…and the rest is history

You didn’t say what your favorite memory was though

when my realm had get-togethers like this:

this was the last great big thing my realm co-opted on, a few months later discounted realm transfers would have the hardcores ditch Terokkar:

I have so many…

  • When Bow of Searing Arrows dropped which was my first Epic piece of gear ever.
  • I finally finished the Winterspring Frostsaber grind.
  • Finally getting the 4 original Azeroth whelps to drop via endless farming.
  • Tamed Gondria during the Superbowl.
  • Got the TLPD and tamed Skoll within 5 min of each other. (Haven’t seen TLPD before or since.)
  • Tamed Loque.
  • When Transmog was added and I could keep The Black Bow of The Betrayer as long as I wanted.
  • When mounts & companion pets became account-wide.
  • When Huolon finally dropped The Reins of the Thundering Onyx Cloud Serpent on my birthday.
  • The Running of the Gnomes every year!
  • Every time the Stable has been expanded.
  • When the Legion prepatch dropped and WoD was finally over.
  • When I got the Ivory Cloud Serpent.
  • When after much farming on multiple alts Rei Lun finally dropped the Pristine Cloud Serpent Scale and I dropped group and phased back to my realm to find Rei Lun up and all alone. So I listed him in the Group Finder, helped the next group burn him down, and he dropped 2 more scales for people. Good Karma going forward! Felt awesome! :hugs:

Been playing since WoW first came out and the first expansion was yet to come out.

So yeah, tons of memories but favorite will always be running my first dungeon.

The Deadmines. Or VC or Van Cleef. But never DM because that was Dire Maul.

My Guildie was in a group that needed one more DPs so I got the invite and joined them. Upon entering and quickly being attacked by the Elites that roamed the area I felt a rush of excitement at trying such a challenge. As we made our way through the entrance and into the Instance proper we cautiously made our way through taking at mobs and hoping not to aggroing any additional mobs to not overwhelm the tank. Then when we reached Van Cleef, he one punched my tiger and I ran out of arrows so I had to go melee. But we won. And it was such a feeling of accomplishment. And a reminder to make sure my ammo pouches/quivers were topped off before doing any other dungeon.

When I first got it as a teenager on christmas day. Leveling my troll at the troll village. It was all so new and exciting. Back then the graphics were so crisp and the experience was so new.

Playing in a time before microtransactions, boosts, and raidlogging… Where you played for fun, the game was sustained on subscriptions because it was good enough to stand on it’s own worth, and you took your friends raiding and dungeon diving with you not because Class X was FOTM, but because it was your friend.

Old AV.
Leaving to go to class, then coming back to the same battle with a lot of the same people.

I remember in my early days haunting Westfall on Moonrunner.

I would occasionally ambush flagged noobs on the roads or attack guards just to rattle the saber.

I always usually ended up dead and I had to give up my hunts when players with epic mounts showed up but the thrill and anticipation of hunting in those fields was exhilarating. Though my pvp spirit died when I saw how bitterly outnumbered we where.

Hundreds of Alliance to handfuls of Horde. I think we tried making a raid to hit SW and we never made it there after hitting other town targets.

Not a singular memory but…

I started early cata and even after all these years the part of my wow experience i still remember most fondly are my earliest leveling days. Specifically from my starting zone in the echo isles through stonetalon mountains.

I started playing after had finished a playthrough of wc3 and thought it’d be kind of cool to just be a troll witch doctor running around. So I made this toon and started my adventure.

My first moment of really being blown away by how cool the game was, was when i marched into Razor Hill for the first time. I thought it was the coolest thing ever that I got to actually walk INSIDE an orc burrow, horde barracks, and watch tower! SO awesome! (P.S. I miss buildings being based of their wc3 counterparts)

I worked my way through durotar and the northen barrens where I got hit with another wave of coolness as I entered Ashenvale. This was my first zone with true alliance presence. I quickly set out towards splintertree post where there was an ancient of war (!!!) besieging the outpost! SO cool! I got to see where Mannoroth DIED! SO! COOL!!! The zone had several cool quests such as bombing Astranaar from the back of a wyvern and was a ton of fun!

Eventually the quests had me riding on a cart towards Krom’gar Fortress. The questline here was incredible! I got to rise through the ranks of the Horde culminating in the bombing of Thal’darah Grove. It was awesome see something I did alter the actual map and landscape. Garrosh then makes his entrance and punishes (quite ironically when looking back) Krom’gar for his dishonorable tactics bringing shame to the Horde.

Then, to top everything off, RNG favored me with a truly epic experience. Mere moments after Garrosh finished flinging Krom’gar from a cliff, Deathwing decended from the skies burning us and the zone to cinders (and earning me a fun little achivement)! Such a cool way to finish a such a fantastic storyline!

I have tons of fond memories of this game but idk if anything will top the beauty and excitement of how vast and incredible the game world seemed during those early levels.

I’ve played on and off since BC, as can be seen by the anniversary feats of strength, and cata and mop being when i was the most active

My favourite memories are from MoP riding two seater mounts with my partner across all of pandaria hunting warscouts and warbringers at 4am while waiting in 2 hour long bg queues

I had that in the mail too. But I was fully engrossed in Diablo 2.

Don’t really have a favorite memory. I suppose seeing tons of people for classic launch and reading the chat in Barrens were the best so far.

I remember in TBC in Darkshore their was a max level hunter that would wreck the town from top to bottom. I didn’t have a max level character at this time so I would look at the way he was slicing through all the guards and people with awe. Anyone who tried to confront him died within seconds.

It made me envy this guy and work hard to get to where he was.

Random memory but back when I was little it meant something.

1.) Not on this character but I’ve been playing since Vanilla, I just don’t like to rub it in but instead use it to help those in need with the knowledge I know.

2.) I was once faffing about during WoD for the Legendary Ring quest turning in the quests when all of a sudden I see someone named ‘Dedarufan’ come up in my PM. Apparently they liked my TMOG so much and they were Horde, so they made a lvl 1 Alliance character with that name to tell me how cool it was; I found it quite sweet actually.

Been playing since 2004.
Most memorable…after a weekend of a LOT of playing way back then, I remember walking out to my car monday morning to go to work, and seeing this big weed that looked just like Kingsblood and having this intense urge to cultivate it! Odd feeling it was
