Claymore was the one that restored my faith that the newer animes can be good
Astroboy.
I watched Sailor Moon when I was a teenager. Not much since.
Cory in the House is an honorable mention, for me.
Food Wars and That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime. Also Zom100 is amazing so far.
For older stuff, Sailor Moon and the lesser known Revolutionary Girl Utena. The latter is so weird and magical, I watched it when I was a kid.
I need to finish watching this one.
I was into a lot in the late 90s through the mid-00s and bought a bunch of tapes and DVDs through Right Stuf and other places, but I kind of just drifted away from anime not long after college. I occasionally will watch something on various streaming services, but I’m not dedicated to anything.
However, that said, my absolute favorite anime is Whisper of the Heart. There are few movies or show that I will watch more than once…that’s just how I am. But, this is one of them: I love it, and watch it at least once a year and usually more than that.
My second favorite is more fluid and switches between Gunsmith Cats, the original Record of Lodoss War OVA, Night on the Galactic Railroad, or Spirited Away depending on my mood. But, I watch these much more rarely (some of that is the fact that I still only have the VHS versions of all but Spirited Away).
Jimmy neutron : Boy genius.
One Piece’s is the best I’ve seen so far
Interesting. Apparently - if the internet is to be believed - the metal concert that Dave Mustaine created, Gigantour, was a line of homage to that show.
One Punch Man. He is a hero for fun. One punch (so far) and done.
After all these years I still love Berserk and Howl’s Moving Castle. At this point in the game I am reading more manga, webtoons, and manhwa. It is pretty neat to see so many of them that I read turn into anime. Right now I am waiting to see how well The Apothecary Diaries turn out.
Ahh, I’d forgotten about 8th Man and Pounce the Electronic Tiger!
Tokyo ghoul
Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Spirted away
I don’t really watch anime in any way worth noting. Which is weird because I play the heck out of Japanese games.
Of what I’ve seen my favorite is Cowboy Bebop. I know, it is very brave to admit you like Cowboy Bebop.
Rewatched some of it today… ugh all the arcs are great, but Teresa/Claire intro, Ophelia, Galatea are the ones i rewatch all the time. And Rigardo vs Claire… that’s a fight scene. I wish more anime learned how to do it as well. I rarely ever meet people that like it
My favorite is Dragonball Z because of the nostalgia factor. I watched it growing up.
love DBZ, tho it sometimes really drags out stories lmao. DBZ Kai I love
