What is your definition of toxic player?

SIGNS THAT YOU’VE BECOME A TOXIC GAMER

  • You talk down to your teammates
  • It’s never your fault
  • You quit when you’re losing
  • You send hateful post-match messages
  • You’re a griefer
  • You file false reports against people who beat you
  • You “teabag” other players
  • You cheat
  • You harass the developers behind the games you play
  • You’re a fanboy
  • You “boost” and “smurf”

as far as BG that depends 9 times out of 10 if I know its a losing battle I’ll take the 15min debuff and do something more productive then sitting in a losing bg with nothing to show for it…

Its not

Toxic? Unnecessarily aggressive. Some people cross the line between Criticism and Harassment.

One of my top definitions of a toxic player is

someone that uses “fanboy” unironically.

When they’re actually coated in dangerous green goo. That’s pretty toxic.

I quite like those, nothing wrong with them, only the ppl they are attached to sometimes I guess

Smurfing involves creating an alternate account so someone can play (and potentially lose) without affecting their stats, or perhaps, play against others who would otherwise be below their rank.

To my little gnome that was asking <3

Great points.

I was in the battle ground where you parachute to mine nodes. Game was very close and a toxic player kept complaining at me and one other player for having lowest damage done out of DPSers in the brawl. The difference was actually very slight and not noteworthy. We won by literally seconds. I mined the winning node. I looked at the stats. Me and the other person he was bashing capped all the nodes except one. Obviously two of us were capping while the main group was battling it out in center over the two or three nodes that pop up there while the other two of us were battling smaller groups all over the map. If the game hadn’t been so close, I would have looked at stats earlier, but neither of us- that were blamed for a potential loss - ever talked back. We were too busy winning.

To me a toxic player is the one guy in the bg that’s yelling about how bad everybody is in chat.

Or that guy in the group that would rather make fun of a player that isn’t doing something well - instead of trying to help them since they clearly see what that player is doing wrong. I’ve argued with somebody who was doing that to somebody in a lower level dungeon and their response is they don’t have the time to deal with noobs.

Your literally sitting at a computer playing a video game. How do you not have time to at least try? You had time to call him a million names tho…

Wait what? Really, showing passion and following something makes you toxic?

We had a perfect term already for this, Twink (or my favourite “seal clubber”)… this is whats wrong with the younger generation. You don’t value tradition… how you gonna make up words like “yeet” and “smurf” when we already have words available for them.

we should establish wow is a toxic community with a few nice players not a nice community with a few toxic players because the toxic players vastly outnumber the nice players

have you played eve online?

One time after losing a bg that was one of the worst bg groups I ever had people were arguing the whole time blaming each other this one guy proceeded to blame me being the healer I just put him on ignore as it was obvious the other team was just overall better while we were arguing the whole time but he was so mad at me for ignoring him after it was over he made a char on my realm to whisper to me to insult me more lol now that is toxic

I don’t read BG chat, and I always say no all vote to kick. But to me, the toxic people are always the ones who talk a lot.

Solution: Don’t join guild, and don’t read the chat.
