Following lore, as there is a time skip from the prior expac. How are your characters or guilds facing challenges in the the old world as there is now an armistice and a time skip?

My thought has always been that whenever she’s not adventuring, Enekie is being an aggravator on the rest of Azeroth by couch surfing between friends, loafing around and eating potato chips until they get angry and kick her out or a new adventure happens.
Thokk is tending to his garden, trying to make things grow in Durotar. It’s not easy, but with advice from druids, he’s been able to make a few vegetables to go with his dinner.

Nothing of note happened with anyone, except Zhaoyang, who became a full-fledged expert Monk, and Thea, my Demon Hunter, who slowly grows exponentially more pathetic as stubbornly refuses to give up a mission that seemingly nearly everyone else has decided is long over.

This is, for the record, more or less how I regarded the alleged time skip for most of my characters. Any developments I did write were just conclusions or continuations to/of existing threads; variants of the general status quo. Nothing more was needed as I saw it.
