What is wrong with M+

it’s the end of the tier. the people who need “top keys” assuming you mean 20s now are the people who struggled to get to them. the people who outskill them have moved on.

you’re now running with the people who were failing 16s a few months ago.

Augvokers have taken IO inflation to another level this season.

I cannot believe the players I see with 2600+ io. They do maybe ~60% of the DPS they should and OFC have no concept of kicks, dispells, stops, etc…

I actually find myself inviting non-meta specs more and more in very high keys because they’ve had no choice but to learn the hard way to get their high IO. They weren’t getting inflated by some exodia comp.

This is actually incorrect. In order for the rush to be successful it requires both mindfulness and communication the higher you go.

Timewalking, normal/heroic dungeons, LFR, etc are the mindless rushes that require no communication.

The end of the patch is the worst time to pug. Come back 11/14 and you’ll find the quality is drastically different.

All of the issues listed can be dealt with by proper vetting of people you invite

Maybe you should just get out of our game that didn’t have M+ for over a decade, and take your crappy M+ system with you!

See what I did there?

I quit, started playing a game with a better community. Ironically, Wrath is when I started, and the community is just as it was back then.

So you guys keep running heroics with your heads on fire, as if it were a mythic. It just doesn’t matter to me anymore.

i have friends playing wrath classic. they don’t get more rewards for taking longer to clear dungeons or raids either. i’m not sure i’m following your solution.

Um, I never said anything about rewards, you brought that up.

I’m the entitled one here? ROFL!!!

sorry, i should have used the word “advantage”.

i said there’s no advantage to clearing content more slowly. you said “now you see the problem”. i asked what your solution is. you said you quit and went to wrath classic. i’m asking how that is a solution, when wrath classic also does not make completing content more slowly advantageous.

I never try to form groups based on meta, hell I played most of my keys as Prot, but in my experience non meta specs usually play pretty solid

Here’s the problem, and Blizzard really is the one that created it.

Yes, I did run keys, and yes it is a good end game for those of us that don’t raid anymore. No, it shouldn’t be removed (to touch on the argument above us), but it does put the game in hurry up mode.

Now the problem, Blizzard making the weekly 5 heroics has brought mythic geared players, and all their alts so it never ends, to a dungeon most of them could solo. The last time I did these, we wiped out 5 dungeons in 20-30 minutes.

So if I want to dust off an alt or try to heal or tank, I have no where to take my time to learn rotations to prepare for keys. What about players new to the game? What are these runs teaching them about how to properly run an instance? It’s just a joke.

And would I get invited to a key with low gear and IO? You already know the answer.

This is just one of many things, professions are the main reason i quit. Retail is just broken for me. If you’re enjoying it, I’m happy for you. But yea, I hope this helps you understand my perspective on the current state of the game, and why I think it sucks.

It’s not the game that changed, it’s the players.

Literally at no point ever in Classic WoW did players do dungeons like they did in Vanilla. The Classic community is 100x more toxic, 100x more obsessed with min-maxing and chain pulling and completing everything in minutes.

I love M+, I’ve gotten all my 20’s done on multiple alts for the last few seasons, but I have plenty of guildies that hate the timer because in their old age they just aren’t interested in that level of focus for 40 minutes at a time (and most of them honestly aren’t capable, but that doesn’t make them not cool people to play with).

It would be great for the game if Blizzard added another dungeon mode that scaled in difficulty but without a timer, and rewards were ~3 key levels below doing it with a timer.

It’s pretty dead if I play it that way, because the rewards are all dangled for being sweaty.

Nobody plays like that anymore, and people who do are left behind, often to play other games like FF14 where the majority of the playerbase can go at their own speed.

No, but it superseded it.

well you have enough people here to make a 5 man. Have you considered reaching out to them and run as a group?

i mean, i guess it depends how you define “sweaty”. my friends and i take it super chill and have no problem timing 17-20 keys, which give the highest ilvl rewards you can get and the crests to craft the highest ilvl items, while chatting and joking the whole time.

if you’re 440 ilvl and doing 30k overall dps, okay, that won’t be your experience, but that’s something you can fix, not a game problem or a social problem.

edit: oh, i guess if you want the r1 title… yeah, you’ll have to be pretty sweaty for that. no argument there
