i never played the ds version but i did play the 3ds one and i HATED it its right up there with mario kart 8 deluxe

Either Mario Kart DS, or 7.

I loved how in 7 you had the gyroscope controls that would change your camera to first person. It was really fun.

I was fine with just having the DS and it’s Mario Kart. When I finally upgraded to a 3DS it was to goof off in Super Mario Maker. Good Times!!

F Zero dumps all over Mario Kart.

I genuinely don’t understand the love for MK; I think it is the single most frustrating racing game I’ve ever played.

People complain about the blue shells as if there’s no other racing games out there. You know there are, right? And almost none of them have blue shells.

bruh the game is fun, i remember one time i brought my switch in for finals and when my friend and i finished we just decided to play mario kart for rest of the remaining time in class its a fun game when u have friends and i think the “difficulty” makes it unique

You don’t get the point of mario kart then. It’s not a serious racing game, it’s a party game.

BTW OP, you might want to move this to the off-topic games and gaming forum before a mod moves it for you or outright deletes it.

None of them really. I bought a SEGA Genesis after waiting 6 months in 1988 - 1989 for Mario 3 to be available (constantly sold out) and Sonic was just there.

So I didn’t buy anymore Nintendo/SNES stuff. Later I bought a Playstation 2 to play Final Fantasy.

My kids play the Switch, but I’m just angry after 37 years. Nintendo simply cannot just mass produce copies of a game!

Of course now with the cloud, I can get anything I want. And is a non-issue but regardless I didn’t join the Mario Karts, the Yoshi, the Smash Brothers crowd except in passing as in my friends let me play them. My roomate gave me his N64 so I could play Ocarina of Time when he bought the Gamecube

As for Mario-Kart ish racing game. That would go to

Mario Kart 64 for me.

I’m a Nintendo fan, have original NES, classic NES, Wii, WiiU and I have never played Mario Kart.

I don’t really do racing games I guess.

Edit: I do love SSX Tricky, so fat lie about racing games.

Having played pretty much all of them, Mario Kart Wii and 8 Deluxe are certainly my favorites. (Double-Dash too, forgot about Gamecube lol)

It’s interesting to me that Mario Kart is one of a few games that gets better with each iteration.

Can’t say that about a lot of other games.

I really, really hope they bring that back in the next one as an optional mode.

My brother wasn’t as good of a driver as I, but he could always be trusted to nail the power-ups.
