Just coming back to test the new expac and see whats going on… I left due to the horrible state of PVP… Anyway here is my new take from just a rando player…
1: WOW PVP is still the best of any other MMO out there, by far. The maps, speed, etc are all just perfect and fun.
2: How can a Company be so good at my mention in #1 and be the exact opposite for balance? Maybe It will change once the actual Expac comes out and if it does, ignore this but I was literally laughing at the balance issues between classes.
I saw 1 lock just not dying and destroying everyone around him… Saw a DH do the same… Tanks leading dps… DPS leading healing… WTH did I miss??? Did they just give up? I get you will never have complete balance but Good lord! I see why there is a lack of tanks and healers, the trinity is gone…
Anyway, Seems like the same old issues and same old typical classes dominating in PVP as balance issues…
Keep in mind that MMO stands for “Massive Multiplayer Online”. It does not limit to just role playing games.
The one game that was praised for in-game balance is actually Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III. From 2010-2015 era.
The one game that is praised overall for game balance, however is not online (though can be simulated), is Chess. Not one argument can be made that Chess is unbalanced.
I don’t recall any particular issues with Balance, at least nothing that made them best or worse than any other spec. Then again, it’s not my spec, so what do I know.
But, if you call yourself an MMORPG, that is precisely what the game is aim Massive Multiplayer ‘Role Playing’ not quite sure what your aim in posting was , but WoW claims to be an MMORPG so they really need to add more roleplaying content and stop catering so much to End Game and M+ raids which few players will actually experience.
PVP in this game is like ordering a burger at a seafood restaurant…sure they got it but why not just order the grouper. Don’t expect PVP in a PVE game to be good.
It is prepatch, there are alot of “for fun” things going on in the game right now, which i think is good for the game, but it should all be balanced out as they gather data on these new talents and what not.
Well, I have always played a Shaman. I am also not concerned with being the best, I just want to have a chance lol… Now, as an Elemental I am more utility than pure damage which is cool, I love that aspect. But good lord, this is way out of balance. I lost an arena yesterday with full health to a lock in 2 hits… And was throwing everything at him and it was like a scratch… Now, that could be because I am bad but if that’s the case, I need to retire.
