What is up with the Primus?

So…

Ok, look at Sire Denathrius or Prince Renathal…they both totally look and act like Venthyr. The Winter Queen? Definitely looks and acts Night Fae. Archon Kyrestia? Definitely Kyrian.

But the Primus? Why does he look like a cross between Gandalf and… Loki or something? Why doesn’t he look more like the Runecarver or the statues of him in Maldraxxus?

On a different note… am I the only one who wants to hear him say, “Thanks a lot! I’m the Primus, and I suck!”, just once?

Sorry, I can’t hear you over the sound of my epic beard.

I feel like they were paying homage to how necromancers used to look in WC3

That seems right to me.

He’s the old bearded guy directing his ravenous frenzy of Kill Kill Kill army.

Or the old metal head grandpa that also introduces his grandkids to good Prog Rock.

Hah!

“You lot weren’t around Maldraxxus when Opeth toured here… let me play you a bit of Master’s Apprentice…”

Maldraxxi aren’t known for their art skills. They tried their best on the statues, that’s what matters!

The old man caster style suits him very well. It’s more interesting than the first look.

He definitely acts like a Primus though. Intelligent, fired up, snappy decision maker. The moment he revived he was ready for action. That’s definitely lord of Maldraxxus material.

I mean… if 30-40 feet tall is tiny for you, sure.:rofl:

Tiny compared to the rest. He would reach their knees

Soul of Bob Ross confirmed.

Damn, I missed this golden treasure of. Comment, too!

Kids, you ever hear of King Crimson? And Genesis did more than “Invisible Touch”, ok?

“Why… our folks - Arbiter rest their souls - almost named my brother Zovaal, Rael. The Lamb was truly a work of art…”

All along we were looking for Brother John and it was us! (Sidebar a game based off that stuff could be amazing. The colony of slippermen! There’s no who, why, what or when!)

Quick side note: as a side project a couple of years back, Nick DeVirgilio (former Spock’s Beard) did a cover of The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway; it was called “Rewiring Genesis”.

Truly amazing. I was fortunate enough to see it performed live, from start to finish. One of my favorite shows of all time.

Man, Spock’s Beard was/is another amazing band. The Light. Snow. All great albums! Seen em live, well, after Neal had left. I’ll give that a look-see

Genesis, Gabriel era, is my favorite band and Lamb us my favorite album, so that would be amazing to see it

He seems like he would be as tall as Kristin, the Archon, if she wasn’t perpetually in hover. Or whatever her name is - though I usually lament on Discord in Spires: “Dangit, Kristin, move your dumb wings!” :upside_down_face:

Yeah, Spock’s Beard is a great band. Truth be told, I’m more a Neal-era fan than a Nick-era or whoever-the-guy-is-now-era fan.

Have you heard Transatlantic? The “super group” that Neal formed with Mike Portnoy (former Dream Theater), Roine Stolt (Flower Kings), and Pete Trewavas (Marillion)?

Yep! Transatlantic is great. Explorer’s Club is another super group, as is Ayreon - though that’s a really esoteric kinda thing.

Bridge Across Forever is one of my favorites from Transatlantic.

Flower Kings is another favorite. Unfold the Future was my first introduction to them years ago.
