What is up with raw stats on T3

How can it be that the updated T3 is worse than the original one for many specs.

One example (it basically applies to any item) - Resto Druid Helmet

  • old set: 25 stam, 31 int, 20 spirit, 66 healing
  • New set: 11 stam, 11 int, 11 spirit, 97 healing

I don’t know about you but I‘d rather have massive int/spirit than 31 healing. That would make mana less of an issue for healers.
11 stam is also ridicolous. The lvl 25 helmet from bfd has 11 stam. So for the last 6 phases our gear just gained healing/damage but no real progress when it comes to stats.
Please slap some more raw stats on these items. Doubling them is a good start

It’s because of the Sanctified mechanic. I think my T3, OG, helm has like 25 stamina on it; that’s 250 HP, I’ve seen pics of Sanc buff giving 30-odd percent more HP. So that 250 would be 350 HP.

Basically, they made it so T3 will only be usable in Naxx, and D-tier everywhere else. Hecks, you probably will want T2.5 for Scarlet raid progression (as you farm BiS in there). :joy:

Its not because of sanctified, its how Zirene specifically has decided to itemize things for SOD. He has taken stat budget and given it to DPS stats and made stam flat since T1. I dont know why he has done this because its also contributed to the 1 shot meta in open world pvp because everyone has fresh level 60 amounts of health unless they do the r13 grind.

“Mana issues”…?

My brother grab a freaking spriest and put them in your group, or tell your raidlead to drop you in their group.

This has been a problem with raiding itemization in SoD at level 60 that has only become more egregious the further item level increases. Because they only have so much item budget to go around, we’ve ended up seeing some really anemic stats in favor of the budget being moved to more “desirable” ones.

Stamina/Health pools are so low in T2/3 it feels like you’re a fresh 60 wearing blues. Sure you have good healing/dps output but it feels like you’ll fall over if something more than a strong wind blows your way.

We have Paladins, a mana using class, with 0 intellect on their gear (minus healing spec). It feels really bad having the same mana as a naked level 60 paladin. You can’t rez more than 1 person without having to drink. You can’t fully buff a raid group without going oom. If something has a mana drain; you’re screwed (thanks for not doing anything about the Sons of Ragnaros. Those are SO FUN to tank as a Paladin).

I feel like the item budget shouldn’t apply to base stats that classes need to function (mana and health). It would make much more sense if an item were set up to have a baseline stam/int based on item level (adjusted based on armor type: cloth, leather, mail, plate. So plate would always have more health than a cloth piece for example). You could then have the budget to place whatever stats on the gear without completely railroading the players base stats.

That said, for the most part, I think they have done a good job improving the vast majority of items from classic. There were SO many stinker items in the game. It has been a breath of fresh air to see them improved.

I have had a big problem with the amount of Stam on majority of gear and its no different in Naxx. Like WTF up the stam already.

Give spirit to mage healer set so we enjoy the game outside of naxx.

I’m assuming he specifically said it?

Looking at the OG T3 compared to SoD T3, and it really feels like they want T3 to be used only in Naxx and force everyone to ‘reset’ for Scarlet.

Hes in charge of itemization. The stam issue isnt new, look at all the reitemized gear for SOD from MC/BWL/AQ40, it all has barely any stam on it.

I mean…rogue’s T1 Chest only lost 4 stamina, while T2’s Chest was unchanged.

Meanwhile they lost 17 stamina on their T3 DPS Chest, which is the only comparable spec for OG T3 rogue.

PS: T2.5’s chest lost 8 stamina.

We’re going to end up with like 20-40k health on some specs inside naxx with how sanctified works, if you want more raw stats wear pvp gear.

because they want you to die when you screw up and not die while not screwing up. so, the item budget is tied to normalized play pattern within the specific content. same reason why healing is so boring in sod. literally nothing to do if everyone is playing correctly.

Because we will also have scarlet raid and powercreep will be too much if they double naxx gear stats, then scarlet should be WOTLK stats. Also this design keep PvP gear best for PvP, not PvE t3 as it was in classic.

It’s because they want too hard, too fast with improving gear itemization and making items more ideal. MC gear was itemized too well and the set bonuses were too good, this caused a domino effect with the following tiers. Part of Classic’s gearing was also how itemization improved from tier to tier, not just stat budget.

The stamina is low on the pve gear because it’s a trade off for PvP… when PvPing it makes sense that you should not have the huge damage boost from the pve gear AND have the high stamina of the PVP gear.

The point is (I Checked a FEW) on warrior tier 3(at least the protection one) the raw stats are LESS than the era version.

it also has 2% crit???
