What is this Tahkwitz mechanic?

You can’t get him unless you’ve done a specific quest to get the teleporter unlocked? Or unless you have the Venthyr gate? Or something like that?

Why make it so difficult for so many people to reach a rare we need for an achievement?

This is really dumb.

Edit: I am not going to swap covenants to kill one rare. I think that’s inefficient. That’s not a real solution. I like being Necrolord and don’t really wanna swap because it will ruin the immersion of the game. Someone mentioned, “oh yeah, lemmie swap to Venthyr to complete one thing and then come back to y’all in Maldraxxus. Kthxbye love you.!” I have always been a Necrolord and I love it. Wouldn’t change it for anything. I have been looking for groups. I just… don’t even feel like being online because it doesn’t seem worth it until more things are unlocked. I am going to wait for it to be unlocked.

Second edit: I did try googling how to get to him before coming here. Since I made this thread, people have suggested a number of ways to try and get to him. I’ve been unsuccessful. So, as I mentioned, I am just going to wait for flying.

I think its locked behind the Locus Shift network which becomes available in Chapter 6 of the story.

There seems to be a lot of treasures and rares behind the Cypher wall as well.

you can solo him as a lock as well, using a gateway every 2min, lol… just don’t get “carried away”. =]

Yeah, or that you need flying to get, which is time-gated. I’m really annoyed with this and it’s making me not want to even be online.

it IS dumb for people to ignore the obvious solution of going venthyr, I agree.

seriously. just go venthyr. it’s not like you need whatever covenant ability you have to complete content out there, and being venthyr makes getting all the chests and such so much easier. The first thing I do on any character I’m bringing out there is swap them to venthyr.

or wait a few weeks for flying

or get the darkmoon cannon thing.

is it dumb that treasures exist that you can’t readily get to? kind of. But we have a solution available to us :woman_shrugging:

Haven’t been able to find a lock to portal me up there. It’s very annoying.

I did Tahkwitz first day.

Make a group with a Warlock. It’s take time to get up because you need to portal several times (2m cooldown), but we got up there. Once you’re up there (with 3 people) summon the rest.

When we did it I was back against the wall and couldn’t see a thing. Apparently he has a wind effect which will knock you off.

But, we did it.

All of this stuff will be trivial once flying drops. But if you’re up for a little work, it’s doable.

This is as ridiculous as time-gating rares/chests. Not everyone is going to swap covenants. I am patient enough to wait for flying/the quest. Doesn’t mean I still don’t find this to be a really stupid thing to go through. I’ve been trying to find a lock to help, but haven’t been able to yet.

I’ve done that boss multiple times on toons that are neither Venthyr or a Warlock or a Warrior. It’s not hard to find a group, just don’t expect it to be labeled “Tahkwitz” specifically, I’ve done it in the mega “ZM rare” farm groups that there are usually 2 or 3 of at any time.

Making people swap covenants just to complete content is not good game design.

Right, I use Fleshcraft and Adaptive Swarm as part of my regular rotation, now. I don’t really wanna give those up. :confused:

Woah, Necrolord Guardian Druid, talk about non-meta. And looking at your gear, it’s not even for PvP. What an Odd Choice. I understand Night Fae, I understand Venthyr, and I understand why Kyrian is becoming popular, but Necrolord, I can’t wrap my head around that.
