What is there to do before shadowlands?

I just came back sorta recently since shadowlands is coming out soon and i haven’t played since the beginning of bfa - but it seems like there’s almost nothing worthwhile to do in the game right now. I figured i could catch up enough to do some worthwhile m+ runs maybe but with all these legendary cloak questlines and then upgrading it , it seems like theres no hope of that.

is there anything worth doing in the game right now or should i just wait until the xpac is released? all my chars are basically fresh 120s considering their gear is from the first few months of this expansion

Before Oct 13th. these are still doable even if you just came back:

AoTC and mount.
KSM and Awakened Title.
War Campaign for Veteran Title.
Old Transmog, Raid runs. Legacy Loot got activated on Legion so many people are currently running Legion content.

After Pre-patch lands:
New leveling experience with squish and new ability changes.
WQ’s, Emissaries AND Pre-Patch Events to gear all your toons easily to 445 so they aren’t totally trained during SL leveling.

There’s no way you get KSM if all your toons are freshly geared in less than two weeks

5-mask x2 title and mount -> this is what I personally targeted and got
Jaina mount -> got this too
AotC mount
CE mount (good luck)
+15 season mount

If the person has friends or guild it absolutely is possible.

5-mask carry is possible.

Mad World on the other hand is not possible anymore.

you have until 10/13 for Mad World, it’s very possible. 5-mask SW before 10/6, then 5-mask Org, done.

…Unless you have no masks, in which case, my sympathies, but given that the game was supposed to launch in October you probably didn’t care about that.

Okay, let me amend:

Unless OP can get carried, KSM is not an attainable goal.

I meant the OP doesn’t have max Cloak. You can’t do Mad World without max cloak or Elite Extermination, which you can’t get in two weeks.

I didn’t have max cloak when I 5-masked Org. Just use vision food, flasks, and the weakaura for the potions.

Get your life as together as you can and make awesome use of not bothering with content that doesn’t matter… or level some toons (:

Go open Achievements window. Pick a few.
Go play classic.
Tithe all your gold to paladins.

This depends on your viewpoint, my goal is to level as fast as possible so more gear=more damage=faster leveling means “worthwhile” would be gearing my characters. If you’re a “no rush” kind of player then ignore me :slight_smile:

The most rewarding thing is to level another toon; Then you can enjoy competitive play (questing, dungeons and BGs) with things at your level.

Ideally though, you should take at least one of your toons and go through the cloak scenario. You can obtain the cloak and rank it up to level 4 or 5 in one day. This makes a big difference in enjoying Uldum and Vale, which (along with Visions) drops lots of gear.

The cloak is intimidating, but you can approach the task knowing you are just going for level 5 only. Some of my toons I just get the cloak to level 1 and walk away.

One feature that is really cool to kill time is the “110 Trial” which you can test out on the new character creation screen. By choosing the 110 trial, you get some training on the chosen class. This is great for enhancing your PVP and learning more about the other classes.
