What is the Torghast problem? What am I missing?

It occurs to me when I read posts about Torghast being problematic that I may not be understanding the issue. I went to the Upper Reaches the other day to fetch the thing for Jaina. Is this the context people are having trouble with. I know it only went up to level 6 and I see people talk about levels 7 and 8. Is that where it becomes nigh on impossible?

I got through it by picking the death gate anima talent which spawned Darion Mograine who tanked for me and I bought the thing that gave me 6K health when I attacked a new mob from the broker, for the orbs at the end. It took some time, but I did eventually wear it down. That was with blood spec.

I’ve never been able to get past the floor elites spec’d as my usual unholy, and get my butt handed to me playing my fury warrior.

The quest floors seem doable as a solo tank spec. I’m not blasting through anything, but I do get through. Is that the experience of my fellow players or is there something else I’m missing?

Tuesday to Wednesday this week it was basically one shooting everyone with unavoidable damage.

Thursday they nerfed what they buffed on Tuesday and its no longer a problem.

The issue is that I thought I was going to get a mount from a layer 8 run, but it turns out the mount is specific to Twisting Corridors layer 8.

This may shock you. You may want to sit down. But believe it or not, not every class has access to a tank spec.

Yes, I understand that. My question is more related to doing the quest runs than attempting to go get mounts or something. I’m trying to understand where people are having the problem, or is it all of if?

The problem now is they made it too easy. A Layer 8 can be done by someone doing Heroic dungeons.

check wowhead daily to be on the pulse

Is it possible you are confusing layers and floors (levels).

There are 8 layers of increasing difficulty. Each layer is a run of 6 floors.

Ooh. Yes. I missed that. I thought there were just more floors above those I’ve already been to.

You’re a Shaman. Just slap on a shield and yell at the enemies like Warriors do. I don’t see why it wouldn’t work.

I did a group Wed Night before the nurfs after struggling on my Rogue (Tank healer 3 DPS - We had been trying the 4 of us, sans tank, I had also tried solo - and it was not going well) and everything the tank was saying and doing made us realize they really were having a COMPLETLY different experience to what the rest of us were.

While there are some glaring issues with Torg, I think a majority of the ‘issue’ is blizzard wants to try and force people to make groups for it, rather than making it solo content.
who’da thunk that we would have to talk to people in mmo’s these days
 smh,

One of my guild’s tanks is a 200 ilvl Brewmaster Monk, and even he struggled to clear layer 8 solo. The nerfs were definitely needed.

The biggest problem is that the time they want us to invest in this thing doesn’t match the value of it. I barely find time to run my M+ and raid and everything else I needed to do every expansion to keep myself in good graces with those two systems.

Who wants a whole other separate time sink to try and squeeze in to accommodate M+ and raid? I don’t. Especially not if I have to find a group for this as well.

The changes they made are a bandaid to the flaws in their design. It works and Torghast is fun, but if it’s meant to be progression content then it really should work better with the reward structures around progression content. The hamster wheel just feels like it keeps getting bigger.

Glad they nerfed it. Torghast is just a weekly chore i have to do to unlock my final talent selection (oops I mean legendaries)

You missed an entire week of whining and the place getting smashed by nerfs as a result.

The situation is “resolved”.

I look through every nook and cranny to GET EVERYTHING and I STILL only get 99% completion! WTF BLIZZ??
