What is the time gate behind horrific visions?

What is the time gate behind horrific visions ? Can we run it over and over? Or do we get one attempt a week?

There’s a currency to enter, pretty sure. Which is earned by doing Things.
I do not know what these Things are until I get my hands on it.

Well, it’s not out yet?

You get one freebie a week doing the weekly invasion, you can then do dailies/farm mobs to do up to 2 more for the week.

Max Cloak Upgrades (Horrific Visions) is 3 per week per Method’s video on it. If something else happens I’m sure we will find out.

There’s no lockout, but there is a gate of sorts. To get into a Horrific Vision you need to farm Coalescing Visions, a new currency. They drop from completing N’Zoth assaults and events/dailies in them. Wrathion sells the entry item for Visions for 10,000 each.

It sounds like a lot, but it’s really easy get a lot of them. If you actively do every assault you should be able to get 3 Vision tokens a week max. In Visions you only get one attempt per entry token, if you kill the main boss or die it’s over.

This part is kind of annoying to me. I’m better at dying than killing stuff.

Oh, well.

You can just beeline to the end boss until you get a better cloak, it removes a lot of the risk and gives you the most time to do it.

Also you can group up for them and the new upgrade tree thing (Titanic Innovations I wanna say) has a solo/group path for upgrades with stuff like self rezzing or helping teammates with sanity loss.

If you just rush the end boss you get your cloak upgrade.

If you fail, you dont’ get your cloak upgrade.

Well, I’m going to hope you’re more prophetic than Slimm.

Greed is what will kill you in Horrific visions, do the first 5 upgrades just going to boss ignoring all else. After that the next upgrades require that you explore medium difficulty parts of the visions and hard parts further into the level 10 cloaks, that’s when it becomes really challenging.

So many people are going to die next week and miss an upgrade because they won’t read how the visions work and they will explore instead of killing the boss.

To answer straight and plainly, the consensus is 4 runs a week. You can potentially run as much as you can, but at some point after major activities, the farming of currency to enter is so abysmal that its not worth it.

It’s 10,000 of the new currency per run.

This should help you have an idea of what’s coming.

Currency to enter, can reasonably do 2 a week and with daily grind you can do 3 a week.

Love how they didn’t learn their lesson from islands and continued to make content that actively punishes you for exploring…

The Visions are a little better about it, the issue is more it’s not holding the content behind any hard timegates so you have to make the choice to basically get yourself killed early on.

If Visions only unlocked the extra wings weeks after people would say it’s timegated trash, but really it amounts to a similar end goal. Just that if you want to run the risk and try you can early.

Thank MDI for the disgusting and continuous effort to shove down our throats time-attack modes in an RPG. It is without a doubt the thing I am most disappointed about this game since its inception. I knew it would never be contained to just Challenge Modes/M+.

It’s not time gated, it’s currency gated but those currencies are gated by time.
Doing the assaults and weekly should net you 2 attempts each week easily. If you do the daily stuff it’s like another, if you also grind rares and chests you can get 4.
That’s just what I’ve heard at least.

I figure a lot of people are going to go for the boss because of yummy rewards so you’ll be in a large group and have better survival unless it’s like those 3 bosses in Naz.

I die almost every time on them.
