To play devils advocate for faster content, I could argue that these weak midseason patches are just the B team throwing us a bone while the A team works on Midnight.
WOD was bad but Legion was the best expansion to date, so I’m at least optimistic that Midnight will be good.
So its purpose is to be a holiday event that serves no purpose. Got it.
I agree. I have friends that feel the same way I do where I’m pretty unmotivated to do things in the game right now. The patch new content has been “ok” imo. The nightfall event especially has been great for alts. Visions were new to me as I didn’t do them in bfa, I don’t think they are bad. I can imagine having done them before would curb much interest in them. They apparently even awarded a lot of the same stuff lol.
Duos was disappointing.

Look, no one is going to keep you from talking on the forums, but you sound like you are a fan of the Brawlers Guild, and you will be very disappointed once you actually try Duos.
I say this as someone who loves the Brawlers Guild was expecting Duos to at least meet if not surpass their quality.

They’ve been releasing unfinished ultra buggy patches for years, and filling every couple months with a new micro patch that is grind intensive, and usually time gated for various things like rep or power upgrades. It’s been going on since Dragonflight… Where have you been?
I’m not saying I like it or agree with it, but this is nothing new at all.

Let’s be honest, this is your subjective take. It’s silly to paint something like this as objective when it’s all how you personally view the content.
Like myself, I know I spent a TON of time on siren isle and idk how many hours doing nightfalls.
You also can’t give me a specific one thing. Listing the roadmap tells me nothing other then you don’t know.
So I’m going to leave it at we agree to disagree.
I agree Siren Isle was pretty good, but that’s besides the point because I’m only criticizing the midseason content for 11.1 not TWW as a whole.
If anything from this patch was even as close to as big as Siren Isle I wouldn’t be complaining.

DD is a joke - a once and done quest for the account, a scenario with NPCs killing a couple of bosses or something, for a champ item and a ‘see ya next week’.

It’s not. Not even remotely close. You nuke down some trash mobs with a full NPC party then you fight two bosses with mechanics you can safetly ignore at all times. Then two more bosses, then two more bosses. Trash mobs spawn sometimes, you can use an item for force more trash for more points. It’s very, very easy.
The brawlers guild at least had mechanics you needed to dodge or interrupt or dance around or something. This has none of that. Everything can be safetly ignored.

There’s a lot to do… But what there is to do is all terrible and so futile.

I don’t that is feasible every mid season. People also complain about continent and zone bloat. If we got a siren isle every mid season with a new zone, the bloat would be absurd.
I agree visions fell short, but nightfalls are solid.
Visions also irk me due to my work schedule. Im basically a week behind because I wasn’t able to spend time clearing it too much. It is my fault, but why can’t I do both sw and org in the same week 
Something something “timegates” lol.
And I’ll still do them later on, because they are fun and the items are way cheaper than the og visions from bfa.
People have been asking for the return of The Brawlers Guild for years, and Dastardly Duo’s is thematically the most Brawlers Guild adjacent content they’ve released since.
People expected the side content where you kill bosses in an arena to be as good as the older side content where you kill bosses in an arena.
