Why do people even bot in the first place? And why is every single one of them I see a nelf druid?
It’s largely not really “people” so much as it is “businesses”. They’re botting to get gold to sell for cash on their websites or whatever.
mm… its annoying to see, then. cause i enjoy questing in old content instead of just grinding dungeons to level, and i just ran across about 7 or 8 level 60 nelf druids slaughtering every hozen in a spot i had to quest in. which, made it EXTREMELY difficult for me to get a single tag to finish the quest i was on. cause i’m leveling a pandaren hunter and doing it in MoP content
It makes money. This answer will work for most questions of purpose.
If I see blatant botters, I’ll ask in general chat if anyone can help report them. Usually everyone who’s not a bot will help
Try asking ChatGPT about it.
I reported the group I came across. Not sure if it’ll do much though. And their names were just stuff like “wehtewthkwth”, like someone just spammed a bunch of letters across a keyboard
Sadly you need a lot of reports to do anything, if it’s just you it’s not worth their time. Get a group and make it a quest to delete the botters. It’s satisfying when you watch all 10+ of them deleted at once xD
i don’t really have anyone. all i can really say is the group i came across was at the ship just outside Paw’don Village in the Jade Forest. not sure if they are there still, cause i managed to just get enough tags to finish my quest
Chinese farmers mate. They’ve been around for a long time.
The thing with Bots and Bans is that blizzard tends to collect accounts to ban until they figure out how to block whatever they’re doing, because if they banned immediately it’d give the bot devs a heads up to get ahead of it.
They’ll do a ban wave eventually.
And then bot devs will work around it immediately and the users will have new accounts (mostly compromised) up and running at the same time.
It’s a crap situation because it’s practically impossible to deal with it by just reacting to reports and issuing bans. You have to pull extreme stuff that affects actual players negatively. And that’s no good for obvious reasons.
But all of that aside, even if you reported that batch of bots and they get banned tomorrow, they’d still just send in a new batch the next day. It does not affect them. They already got x amount of gold from the farm before the ban hit. It’s still worth it to them to just make/take another set of accounts and resume.
Level in Remix. Very little gold to be had and few bots.
Oh, I’ve had my fill of the remix. I got the stuff that was exclusive to it.
