What is the progress path exactly

This is one of the most confusing to me. Somebody said if you get some rep to some level you get to do rock climbing WQs or something. I can get professions to some level but not all the way unless I do orders or something. And supposedly I can cook fish with the tuskar for something else. And now there is a new cave to do something with. I’ve given up and just working my HK totals hoping for “the bloodthirsty” some day.

Why did you jump to an alt

Progression is you go here and there, do thingies and whatnot. Now you just look around and do whatever interests you, “oh ‘warlord of draenor’ title, that’s cool title” then you chase that for a bit. Then one day you say to yourself “what the hell is this thunderfury people keep talking about in chat?” look into it, find it interesting then get sidetracked and chase a new thing. Then you see someone questing in uldum riding a cool green mount and say to yourself “wow that’s cool” look into it and find out it is called corrupted dreadwing and then you get sidetracked yet again and chase a new thing yet again.

From a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, progression is more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly… time-y wimey… stuff.

Its system overwhelm. If you’re someone who hasn’t been actively playing for a long time it makes it look like theres more to do that matters than it really does.

The reps are pointless unless you’re doing professions.
Primals storms and hunts are pointless period.
Forbidden Reach was the only thing that semi mattered because of that ring, and it gave free catch up gear in an expansion that hadn’t been out for 5 months. Like, what? Is the game so giga screwed and the playerbase so lazy they can’t even grind some low level mythics because a new patch is about to drop?
Heroics and normals don’t matter period. They’re for uber casuals who are scared of looking for groups, and making you feel like garbage when you haven’t played in a long time by making your old heroic raid gear worthless because every new patch invalidates the old one for some bizarre reason.

Do the quests that unlock the important stuff. Youll know they’re important because its thrown in your face immediately. Do the timewalking stuff that hands you free heroic raid gear, jump right into low level mythics that you probably outgear thanks to forbidden reach, and grind a rating that has no right to exist because WoW is just a dungeon crawler now rather than an mmo, and keep going till you cant stand mythic+ anymore.

Its all deceptively straightforward… and no thats not a good thing.
