It’s like paying someone else to play the game for you. You don’t get any gratification or “sense of accomplishment” because deep down you know you are getting carry and probably don’t deserve/earn the gear the right way.
Just mind boggling there is still people buy gear at this point of the patch.

I only buy carries for my gf and her sis or very close friends who play casually. I do this for raids with mounts on the end boss for a limited time only or CMs/M+ with limited time Tmog. I do it myself but these friends only play casually or subscribe at the end of the xpac just for these rewards. Final day of Legion Mage towers, I got my gf’s account to max lvl and a high enough IL just for the cat skin.
I can’t wrap my head around paying 4million+ a season for CE+mount

People do whatever they want with their gold or money or whatever, who are we to critizice how they spend it.
The thing that bothers me it’s the ridicule amount of advertisement and how they clutter the LFG/chat channels with that crap.

Lets you get into pugs afterward without needing a carry. Very helpful especially if you’re on a newer alt or came back to a patch late. It was the first thing I did when I came back to WoD 4 months after HFC launched, and I was able to pug the whole raid myself the next week without being a carry. (Granted, my gear was pretty decent from the prior patch so I wasn’t that far behind gearwise, but the AotC at least was a big help in skipping the bullcrap and just playing the game)
That aside, if people are just outright buying multiple carries to get the gear with no plans of doing the content normally, that’s very odd to me and would indeed defeat the purpose of playing the game.

Honestly you’re still probably going to be carried in that situation the only difference being you can get into groups for free thanks to ilevel or an achievement.
If you’re so out of touch with the current content that you have to buy your way into it then the odds of you succeding and not being a carry later on are slim.
Isn’t making gold part of playing the game? Technically they are playing the game their way.
Normally I’d agree, but this game is such a joke that you can just wait a month and get welfare gear better than carry gear anyway, so there’s already no sense of accomplishment.
Buying a carry is pretty much necessary for most pugs since most pugs won’t take you into heroic bod unless you have aotc already. Chicken and egg.

I sometimes wonder if most of the posts complaining about “easy gear” in WoW are just from guilds hoping to sell more carries.
Crazy. I have only purchased one carry. It was for the Moose mount at the end of WOD. I paid 50,000 and thought that was expensive.
