as it says, what is the point? there is an event tied around it and a weekly quest that gives currency to get gear. so its something for people to do to get gear right? wrong because everytime you queue you get people in full 250+ on the other team with their 55k hp and you get 1 shot so you lose your way to the honour gained for 1 quest and getting 10 wins? best of luck to you hope you have a glad friend to help you
Just like a lot of things not entirely sure a lot of this sort of thing was thought through very well by objective minded fellers.
At least from a customer experience perspective.
Financially as long as all the “suckahs (myself included)” are paying up monthly then they are content to the “whatever” continues the money train lol…
it’s unrated solo queue
What is the point of crying about arena skirmishes on forums?
You shouldn’t be getting 1 shot as an Hpriest very often anyway. You have Greater Fade, Divine Ascention, and fear at your disposal.
Outside of that, it’s just the way things are right now. I queue skirms all the time, I get 30k HP team mates a lot–I don’t spaz out I just run it and move on to the next one. Sometimes I even manage to win a 2v3, or game where all my DPS are way less geared than than the enemy. If you’re not having fun then why do the content?
Back in WoD, skirmishes were the perfect warm-up. This was of course during a time when there was only 1 honor/1 conquest set (skill determined victory, not ilvl). You could actually warm-up 2’s (healer & dps) for a few matches before entering the real deal with your buddy. AND The PvP queues were so fast in WoD that you could actually spam the skirmishes and random battlegrounds (Prep timer was the only down time in that entire expansion).
PvP queues in all brackets were actually incredibly fast. I leveled up my fresh druid to max in WoD, purely on random battlegrounds. WoD was PvP heaven.
It’s always been my opinion that skirmishes are a sort of “practice” mode. I don’t think it really has any effect but I imagine that’s what it’s there for. As for the weekly, I’d rather not have to do it for the rewards but even still as long as you’re geared you can probably solo the entire enemy team(if you’re a healer it’s a bit more rough, although if you just grab a friend that’s competent it shouldn’t be hard to get the quest done).
Some folks take their skirmishes very seriously and will insult their “partners” or start hate whispering you even if you button mashed your way to victory somehow
It’s adorable though when you are insulted I mean sometimes I have used it to test UI and certain talents, etc.
I think I ran 5 or so lost 3 and all games were me at 30k health and a few randos all 240ilevel+ with 50k+ as the enemy/teammates. So we still have a lot of “pros” queueing up for giggles or for the weekly
I really enjoy skirms as a fully geared aff lock.
