What is the point in item level for pvp?

I mean, each hit whether you are iLvl 340, or iLvl 375, does the same percentage of health in damage with skills. At least most skills anyways. Say if two people are the same class with these two different item levels, they will both deal the same % of damage to each other. It’s kind of pathetic.

yeah it’s junk. This is an mmo, you should be awarded for your skill in amassing gear to crush kids.
I remember my first WSG and this dwarf warrior was running around with cats edge just deleting people. It wa amazing and I wasn’t even mad.
Now I see some kid with 80k hp charge at me full cooldowns popped because he knows he’s gonna wreck.

dont know mate. I feel like warriors do much less damage at 340IL compared to doing a lot at 370+

A person at 270 Ilvl will hit harder than a truck against a 370 ilvl.
I’ve seen it first hand. Some 79k or so rogue opened up on my and I /lol’d them. Before the cheap shot wore off almost half my hp was gone. They were ripping off huge chunks of hp each hit. My crits are also really low against low ilvl targets.

I could be off basis here but I thought that primaries scaled but the benefit from higher ilvl was that secondaries still counted? I could be super wrong though, I just heard that somewhere.

Isn’t this the guy who paid for arena carries and then made posts bragging about how easy it was to get rating because low ilvl scaling was broken?

This IL scaling thing is a myth. Higher the IL the better you do. Period.

To verify this just go naked and duel somebody. Should do the same damage right?

Yeah thats a big lie. Gear should be standardized and make 0 difference. Take gear right out. Take level right out. Take differences in health right out.

Now its skill based.

One of the reasons scaling sucks is because it’s a hidden mechanic, so the confusion is naturally.

And rest assured, Ilvl still matters.

When i first got my characters to 120 i got absolutely destroyed against other 120’s in world PVP and bg’s.

You literally are a low level clown. I’ve reached to 2.1k and stopped for the season in 2v2 simply because all you see after that is Fury Warrior and tryhard Paladins paired up with them. Climbing past 2.1k is slower than 1.9 to 2.0. This games balance is pathetic. Yeah 2v2 isn’t the most balanced thing, but if this was Mists of Pandaria, more classes would be viable in it. I saw a level 110 demon hunter in legion gear, beat an item level 345 arms warrior in pvp just because he chose a tank spec and the item level trash that goes along with it. So we can make level 110’s now and beat level 120’s? LMAO As long as the azerite gear gets hooked up on it? FOH I will literally wargame any loser that wants to dare and try to say I paid for my rating, when the guy I play with is on my server and is a friend of mine. Stay jealous and mad that you died in dalaran sewers. Won’t change that you’re bad and below me. World PvP doesn’t deal with it, that’s why you died in world pvp so bad. But in INSTANCED pvp, item level scaling exists and you’re ignorant until you go find out for yourself, and test the damage. Go check the percentages. You can be item level 320 and deal just as much damage percentage wise, as an item level 370 or 380 will deal to you. Don’t even talk anymore.
