My understanding, is that they are going to just have 2 emblems at a time. but it’s not entirely clear what happens.
When the new tier comes out will we lose our heroism badges, keep the valor and everything old costs valor and we get new types of badges?
or do valor badges convert to heroism and the new stuff costs new valor?
I guess I don’t really care what system them use as long as I know about it before hand and can make informed choices
Naxx drops to heroism badges. Ulduar will have valor badges. All current badge gear will become heroism gear, with the new gear requiring valor.

They’ve never “converted” badges before. I can’t imagine they’re going to randomly start now
Emblem of Conquest will be added that drop from bosses in Ulduar 10/25 and from the new Vault of Archavon boss.
Heroic 5 mans will drop Valor badges instead of heroism, the heroic daily will give 2 conquest badges.
You can convert emblems in the sewer at the currency exchange vendor if you want to buy heroism stuff still.
No, this is new. This is what they said they were going to do for classic wotlk about a month before launch.

You can already convert valor to heroism in a 1:1 ratio.
I imagine your valor turns into heroism, old raids will now drop heroism and current tier (Ulduar) drops Valor.

I remembered them saying they would upgrade heroics badges progressively, not that they would remove later ones altogether.
This is the correct answer for anyone wondering. I forget the next tier up that drops, but the last one for this xpac is emblem of frost.
So if you’re thinking by saving your valor badges it’s gonna get you better gear than what you can get now, you’re wrong.

Yeah that doesn’t say they are removing later emblems.
They simply said they are matching how emblems were handled later in the xpac, and moving that functionality forward into phase 1.
Originally, Heroics continued to drop heroism when Ulduar was released, this is what they changed with that post.
Going off of how things were originally done: Nothing. Ulduar drops Emblems of Conquest, T7 continues to drop Valor.
ToC is when they made T7 raids drop Emblems of Conquest, and then in ICC everything below ICC dropped Emblems of Triumph.

Honestly, the vendors for the token downgrade exchange and purchasable stuff is in the game atm. So take that as you will.
The currency exchanger is in the Dal sewers by the bar.
This is all irrelevant anyway lol, it’s not like even if you had the info you could somehow game the system.
New raid will drop tokens you don’t have, either your valor gets wiped and they use that again or a new token is out.
It’s in your atlas loot check the vendors. It literally says new type of badges for each tier.
