Just my observations from over the years. Not necessary Comps because it bleeds over to BG/RBGs.
People tend to enjoy seasons when the following are considered strong (not OP).
- Arms Warrior
- DK
- Holy Paladin
- Resto Shaman
Classes that are always consistent
- Mage
- Rogue
- Priest
- One Spec of Hunter
Classes that people dislike when they are OP
- DH
- Warlock
- Balance Druid
- Resto Druid
- MW Monk (Fistweaving)
- Retribution for that 1 season that we do not discuss. Most of the time they are decent.
Classes that are usually considered bad but there are players that always seem to make it work and then people call for nerfs because they don’t know how to play against them.
- Ferals
- Enhancement Shaman
- Prot Warrior
- Blood DK
- Survival Hunters - More of a Skill Check, not everyone can pull this spec off.
Prot PaladinRIP
Classes that claim to always be in the gutter but in the same time originated the meme of “Melting Faces”. Garbage when they are bad and Too Oppressive when they are good. Never a Middle Ground.
- Shadow Priests
Classes that “benefit” the most from bugs.
- WW Monk
- Mind Controlling Priests
So in my opinion what is the arena spec that people insist on playing, but should be removed?
Demon Hunter. The design philosophy of defensives (with or without bugs), self healing, damage and control is just not the same as the rest of the classes. WoW DH design seems like it should belong in Diablo.
